I seem to recall a few years ago there was a WR in Atlanta who somehow had gone unnoticed during recruiting. Then ole coach Pruitt found him, made him an offer and he committed! Then after that everyone found out about him, he decommitted and ended up at FSU. I don't recall that kids name, but did he even pan out? I can't think of any big time WR coming out of FSU recently so I may be mistaken.

Anyway, could be the situation here. Yes sometime you get a kid who develops late but them becomes a stud, Derek Barnett comes to mind. But for every Derek Barnett there is a Rod Wilks. I'll trust our coaches to evaluate, certainly don't assume that a kid getting offers from top SEC schools is simply an unknown to our guys; trust me, they know the kids name.

Jordan Young, he did not pan out. His flip led us to go after Cedric Tillman which seems to have worked itself out.

Just odd that his dad is a coach and he hasn’t camped anywhere. Kid could’ve had a way more active recruitment probably if he had camped.

Well he probably only went to his dad's.

I think speaking in definitives at this point wouldn’t be intelligent. Kid just had film come out and is being offered by some big schools. If someone wants to pass along film on him why piss on them for trying to help the team and the kid?

We are already talking about turning away 4* LBs because we are only taking 2 and we have Spillman pretty much wrapped up. Would you really think this kid can make it above guys like Burns, Singleton, or Cole?

Some guy tried something like that at the Steelers training camp 5 years ago. Came in pads, jersey and helmet. Unfortunately he chose a #43 jersey which is one of the numbers not issued anymore and the day's drills were without helmets. The players noticed all that and called security to escort him off the field

Steelers fan put on full pads, Troy Polamalu jersey and tried to practice with the team

Actor Ed O"Neill went to training camp with the Steelers in the 1970's and played college football at Youngstown State before becoming Al Bundy.

What I think is immaterial here. It’s possible Tennessee like other staffs like Clemson, Texas, etc may have just now evaluated him. Entirely possible we’re satisfied with our LBer board and we don’t do anything. I’ve just learned to never speak in definitives.

More like the 68th LB this year and somewhere around 6th best player in Arkansas depending on what service you look at. No recruiting service has him as the number one LB nor as the top player in Arkansas

Agreed. I wish the kid the best, but I think we are in good shape at off the ball LB this class between Spillman and some of the others we are after
