Twitter is suing because companies won't advertise with them.

Heh. No clue. I heard there was like a 2 year waiting list for them. Saw my first one a couple weeks back... looks like a lunar landing vehicle... plus doesn't work physically for me. No thank you.

Some angles they look awesome and others look terrible, but ultimately, I can't justify an $80k truck with less storage space than a Camry

I really don't think he minds being hated by some, but it's obvious he needs a ton of external validation.

It's been wild to see him go from voting for Biden to right wing edge lord, but he's certainly built a zealous cult following the last couple years.

Talk about lack of self awareness.

Have seen a few gunmetal grey ones that look alright. I think the Rivian and Ford both look better. No idea how they compare in terms of more important stuff though.

IDK much about any of the EV's, but apparently the tech on Lucid kicks Tesla's ass all over the place, they just don't have the recharge infrastructure

His next tweet:

Imagine Musk sells to Dorsey and Dorsey eliminates those jobs.

Go to the Meta thread. See what was said about Zuck because he wasn't moving heaven and earth to prevent these crimes.

Musk gets a pass on speech. He gets a pass on everything

Elon does both

You guys are both great. You get mad when people are on the platform and when they're removed. You're both all over the place. Good stuff.

Elon boosting people describing the Holocaust as a logistics failure, can’t imagine where the advertisers are going

Musk's "freedom of speech absolutionist" position is just stupid, plain and simple. I guess when you're a billionaire, your world view just becomes skewed from any semblance of reality. And because of this, Elon is running TwitterX into the ground.

Watching him crash and burn in Brazil is both folly and fulfilling.

There's porn on X?
Definitely nudity and links to porn. They usually get flushed pretty quickly and at least blurred with a notice added. But every once in a while, one get through in a very active thread.

The first amendment is pretty absolutist when you read it. And until recently, every western democracy had a similar position. If you read history, every time a government begins to out limits on speech, they are on the road to dictatorship.
The only acceptable cure for free speech of which you disapprove is MORE free speech.
Always keep in mind that any ability that you wish the government to have to curtail speech YOU do not like can and will eventually be used against YOUR speech. Government ALWAYS seeks to expand its control and never relinquish it which is why we have a Bill of Rights in the first place.
It is unbelievable that in the 21st century that this has to still be explained to reportedly educated adults 😳

Sounds good in theory.

Yet in reality:

Freedom of speech and expression, therefore, may not be recognized as being absolute, and common limitations or boundaries to freedom of speech relate to libel, slander, obscenity, pornography, sedition, incitement, fighting words, hate speech, classified information, copyright violation, trade secrets, food labeling, non-disclosure agreements, the right to privacy, dignity, the right to be forgotten, public security, for example, yelling "Fire!" in a crowded movie theater where no fire exists, blasphemy and perjury. Justifications for such include the harm principle, proposed by John Stuart Mill in On Liberty, which suggests that "the only purpose for which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilized community, against his will, is to prevent harm to others".[

Elon also restricts “free speech” all the time, because he’s not an absolutist at all; it’s just a talking point that gets eaten up by his fans who don’t have Twitter accounts

Elon Musk was not talking about government protection of speech when he called himself a "free speech absolutist." He was talking about speech on Twitter. He didn't know what he was saying when he said it, and now that he's so clearly for censoring speech, it gets thrown back in his face again and again. We quickly realized he didn't know what he was talking about when he basically said speech laws should be governed by popular opinion.

When we say "free speech absolutist" in this thread, we are not talking about the constitution.
