The only pick that I heard wrong was Ronan, and a lot of people had that one going a different direction. 36 hours before committing all experts felt pretty confident he was going to be a Vol. like I said I been away until end of July, so don’t have any new stuff.
How in the hell do we miss on every recruit? Pure dog sh!t recruiting..
I am from Peabody But I been in Tennessee for 27 years since college. Usually spend July back in Massachusetts thoughRelax I was just going by what @TrippieRedd. But you’re suspect.
Especially since you declared Francis Mauivowels to the Vols up until just hours before he committed.
I assume you’re from Peabody Mass, and I was born in Boston and spent much of my childhood in Mass, so as a fellow masshole, I’ll let you do your thing. But I’ll be judging you in silence from afar.
Good grief. I was reading these freak out comments and thinking I was in the Russell thread. Then I read your comment about "...he's the one tackle active on our board" and I realized I was in the Bennett Warren thread.I think AP/MR put it nicely. Every day that goes by the less likely it feels.
If we don’t get him, it really sucks no two ways about it.
The issue here in my opinion isn’t the meta “inability to close” or that the kid’s mom wants him to go somewhere else because that happens all the time and will probably forever. It’s that he’s the one tackle active on our board.
I'll solve it...Staff can’t cl_s_.
Would anyone like to solve the puzzle?

At the end of the day, we tend to land approximately 20% of the 4-star and 5-star recruits that the self-proclaimed "insiders" claim are a virtual iron-clad lock (up to and including supposed silent commitments). Then, we land maybe 1% or 2% of 4-star recruits that seem to come out of nowhere and nobody predicted. This is not a new phenomenon starting with the Heupel coaching staff either. There really aren't any extremely well informed insiders in this program, and it has been that way for a long time.

I'll solve it...
Jake Merklinger
Jonathan Echols
Kaleb Beasley
Braylon Staley (offered this kid in February, he took two visits, then committed. Not only a "close", but a damn quick one on a top 150 player)
Peyton Lewis
William Satterwhite
Max Anderson
Boo Carter
Kellen Lindstrom
Nico Iamaleava
Daevin Hobbs (not including an unofficial visit to Knoxville, this kid's last four visits before he committed were to Ohio St, Michigan, Alabama, and UGA...he committed to us about 2 weeks or so after his official visit to UGA, and a month after his official to Bama; those were his last two visits...but, yeah, you're right...guess that doesn't count as a "close")
Nathan Leacock
Caleb Herring
Arion Carter (this kid already had his locker picked out at Bama before we swooped in and "closed", leaving Pete Golding in the car outside his gym)
Cam Seldon (go ask @Plove23 about our staff's "close")
Chandavian Bradley
Ethan Davis
Jordan Matthews (this kid had the staff's "close" delivered to his school in a briefcase)
Addison Nichols (two of this kid's officials were to UGA and Ohio St...Heupel had been on campus about 15 mins before "closing" him)
Tyre West (flipped this kid from UGA to "close" him)
James Pearce (fought off UGA to "close" this kid)
Joshua Josephs
Squirrel White (again, fought off UGA to "close"....again)
I could go on, but this looks sufficient "closing" to me.
UGA, Bama, Ohio St get whoever they want...at the moment, we are not UGA, Bama, or Ohio St; the second those of you around here realize this, and accept it, this recruiting thing will make a bit better sense. For every other school that is not those three, recruiting is a grind...USC, Oregon, Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Auburn, Florida, etc...they all either use the term "fluid", or they have their own word for it.
Close.
That's the best you got? I expected better bullsh!t from you. Good job on the disappointment.
