U.S. Navy Not Fit For War

Well now it is starting to make sense. No gators..no need for marine assualt

The Biden administration’s new shipbuilding plan is wholly inadequate

Under any of the shipbuilding projections delivered by this plan, the Marine Corps drops to 24 amphibious ships in FY24 and proposes the early end to the production of the LPD-17 Flight II line.
More of the distributed warfare concept in action.

They don’t want a single Wasp anchored in one location holding 2,000 Marines.
They want 20 lighter warships in 20 different locations each holding 100 Marines.

Corps wants a new lighter amphib ship that carries 75-100 and can beach itself.

In the wake of multiple deaths and suicides aboard the USS George Washington, 260 sailors are being rehoused on land in the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, the U.S. Navy has announced.

The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier has been dry docked since 2017 as it undergoes an extensive overhaul process.

In the past year, the ship has lost seven crewmembers. In April alone, the ship suffered three apparent suicides.

The United States Naval Institute said that the ship's overhaul will not be completed until 2023. The cost of the extension is over $100 million.

Navy helicopter crash that killed 5 caused by mechanical failure, not pilot error

The ill-fated MH-60S helicopter had been conducting flight operations in September aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln when it plummeted into the water. Five passengers were pronounced dead after an unsuccessful search and rescue mission, while six other service members were injured. After an extensive investigation, the Navy said the tragedy was caused by mechanical damage, not the pilot.

The five sailors, all assigned to the Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 8, were identified as Lt. Bradley A. Foster, 29, a pilot from Oakhurst, California; Lt. Paul R. Fridley, 28, a pilot from Annandale, Virginia; Naval Air Crewman (Helicopter) 2nd Class James P. Buriak, 31, from Salem, Virginia; Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Sarah F. Burns, 31, from Severna Park, Maryland; and Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Bailey J. Tucker, 21, from St. Louis, Missouri. Crews later recovered their bodies.

The sailors were riding in a MH-60S helicopter "conducting routine flight operations" from USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) when the aircraft crashed into the sea approximately 60 nautical miles off the coast of San Diego at 4:30 p.m. PST, Aug. 31, the U.S. Navy 3rd Fleet said.

EXCLUSIVE: 'I can't with this place. There's Something Evil here.' Mother of USS George Washington sailor says her son attempted suicide by swallowing hand sanitizer, after seven deaths in one year aboard the ship

  • Seven sailors are confirmed to have died on the USS George Washington in the past year – though parents say the number could be as high as 10
Another sailor on the USS George Washington attempted suicide, after seven deaths in the last year and three in a week in April.

The young serviceman's mother, who spoke to DailyMail.co m, said she was furious with Navy leadership who failed to inform her that her son had been hospitalized after drinking large amounts of hand sanitizer.

Despite this being his second alleged attempt to kill himself, the sailor was not among around 200 offered a chance to move off the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the mother said.

After waking up in a Newport, Virginia, military medical facility on Tuesday her son told her he was ordered to return to his duties on the ship Friday.

The mother asked to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation by the Navy for speaking out.

'His words from Wednesday night are still haunting me,' she said. 'He said that his plan was that in 30 days, he will be separated from the Navy. He said if it's longer than 30 days, then his next attempt will not be a failure. It will be a success.

Crew on board GW have complained of both stifling heat and bitter cold on the ship, describing it as a squalid ‘tin can’ which magnifies the weather outside.

The mother who spoke to DailyMail.com this week said it was the dire conditions on the ship that had driven her son to despair.

'There's constant noise. There's constantly drilling noises and jack hammering. When you are sleep deprived because you're working so much or the conditions that you're living in are causing you not to be able to sleep, that can literally make a person go crazy.

What changed? Sailors always been embarked during RCOH?

It's just weird they would keep them on that boat while they were in refurbishment. You'd think they would surge reassign them to ships in need or have them in training offsite or something.
Tell me if you’ve heard this before…. The Navy showed up and told them that yes, life in the shipyard is tough, but - they need to “adjust their expectations.”

Or at least billet them off the boat.

When my ship was in dry dock for an overhaul, no one lived on the ship. Too dangerous. They even had a floating accommodation facility (FAF) that had sleeping quarters for those on their duty days so they wouldn’t have to sleep on the ship. The GW having people living aboard during an overhaul is crazy.

Military law experts said the nearly unbreakable contracts — which can require up to six years of active duty — leave sailors with extreme alternatives: die by suicide or flee and face harsh consequences, including spending years behind bars as patriots-turned-pariahs.

Desperate to leave: Sailors face lack of options when trying to quit the Navy

Portsmouth was a sh!thole when I was there. They actually had a 7-Eleven that was off-limits. No ships company should have to be there until 2023. My carrier was there a few months and it sucked . Dirty and noisy 24/7. Thank goodness for the George Washington tavern right outside the gate lol.

EXCLUSIVE 'There are Systemic Issues Rotting The Military': Marine Lt. Colonel Stuart Scheller says 'politician-pleasing' generals are more Focused on Woke Programs than fighting after he was discharged for criticizing the Afghanistan withdrawal

Generals who are more intent on pleasing politicians than warfighting are responsible for introducing woke initiatives and undermining U.S. military prowess, according to the Marine who was drummed out of the service for his public criticism of the botched Afghanistan withdrawal.

Five months later, Stuart Scheller says he has no regrets about how his 17-year military career ended.

And now he is writing a book that lays out his concerns about the way senior officers are more focused on equal opportunities or COVID-19 than winning wars - with a 13-point plan to fix what he sees as a rotting institution.

'The problem is, you have generals that try to please their bosses,' he told DailyMail.com in an interview to coincide with Memorial Day.

'So what happens is you get generals that will just do anything to please the politicians because it takes Congress to get appointed to be a three or four-star general.

'And so they're willing to inject into the military the initiatives of the politicians of the time without advocating for what's best for the military, which is what a general should do.

He said the only thing the military should be focused on is warfighting. Other factors such as equal opportunities initiatives, extremism training or COVID-19 were a distraction from that central mission, he continued.

When we in dry dock, the sailors on duty were the only one who stayed on the ship. The rest stayed in barracks when not on duty. I'm assuming this is the same situation,

You know why the Navy keeps Marines on-board their ships?

Sheep would be too obvious.
