UF Coaching search (Merged)

Then you have a higher opinion of yourselves than you should.

Since 1980, Florida is 98-18 against Eastern division opponents not named Georgia.

6 of those losses came under Muschamp (5 in the last 2 seasons alone).

You have to stop and think of things from a Florida perspective for a moment.

Not at all, I just don't get how anyone paying attention can't see the irony of UT fans mocking UF looking to replace its worst coach in the modern era who never lost to UT.

Irony, huh? Do you understand that Dooley was the worst coach at UT in school history? He damn near burned our program to the ground. So, big accomplishment for Muschamp - very impressed .

And obtw, I wasn't mocking UF. Just enjoying the fact that the shoe is on the other foot.

All of our coaching changes have basically sucked - glad we have some stability for a change.

And no matter who coaches Florida in 2015, it will be improvement over the mouthbreather we just fired, who damn near burned the program to the ground.

You have no clue wtf you are talking about.

Muschamp: bad offense, great defense, good recruiter

Dooley: underachieving offense, worst defense in school history, recruiting classes loaded with 2 & 3 star diamonds in the rough, lack of discipline, losing the team - see 2011 Kentucky, widespread academic issues on the verge of APR penalties, all losing seasons, 1 SEC win other than KY or Vandy

It's really not even close.

I missed where I said Muschamp was a worse coach than Dooley.

Other than this post I don't recall mentioning Dooley at all.

Nice try

Florida is pretty much a lock for three five star guys, including the number one recruit in the country. As long as they hire someone with a pulse, they'll finish in the top 10.

That's cool. Who is going to score for them because they are lacking playmakers. Also their facilities are dumpy

Agree about playmakers, although that only takes a couple of classes to fix. Facilities argument is overplayed. When USC was rolling under Pete Carroll their facilities were on par with middle of the pack Mountain West schools.

Facilities matter when you are trying to lure players from out of state and need an exciting hook such as Tennessee but when you have a large black population base to draw from as southern California and Florida have then it's obviously less significant (although I think Florida has fallen back on this a little too much and have taken too long to build an indoor practice center).

I'm about as mad as you'd be if a Florida fan talked recruiting smack to you after losing ten straight to Tennessee. :eek:lol:

I'm not really mad about it. I'd be mad about having zero play makers on O, dumpy facilities and a recruiting class that stinks. USC and Miami havent been lighting it up lately either

If I was Florida....

Tier 1: (Long shots, but you gotta call them just because)
Chip Kelly (I really don't think he wants to go back to the world of recruiting, especially when he's having success with Philadelphia)
Gary Patterson (With being able to be in contention finally at TCU, doubt he leaves that)
Todd Graham (Possibility....but doubt it)
Rich Rod (Foley said no)
Bob Stoops (Stoops isn't leaving. He's got it made)

Tier 2: (More realistic possibilities)
Chad Morris (dude is gonna wind up somewhere...fantastic OC. Would do well at UF I think)
David Cutcliffe (I mean, really. He had Duke in the top 25 for a while. Duke. Top 25. Whoa. I'm hoping he stays out of the SEC for a while, unless he comes back as our OC or HC in the worst case scenario)
Ruffin McNeil (I think the guy is a great coach. Doing well at ECU.)
Sal Sunseri (Because at the end of the day, I still hate Florida)

Next child named Gaines?

Tennessee fans are stupid enough to believe he named his kid after our town. There was an article that stated that Knox was the decided upon name before he got the job, it just played into where he was coaching. You're naive if you think they cared enough about a school to name a kid after the town, especially in a profession as fluid as coaching.

Pretty sure he was joking BGV

I'd take Coach Jake over Morris. Morris is insanely overrated. I want to see him at Florida, so they will sink. Morris needs to learn how to be an HC in the MAC, instead of learning on the job in the SEC.

Kyle Whittigham - Utah
83–42
Worked out good for the Gators the last time they hired a Utah coach.

Actually not a bad choice. Prior to joining the PAC-12, Utah was in contention for the MW conference title with Boise St. for years. However, since joining the PAC12, a noticeable adjustment period has been there but they seem to be improving.

I just got a REAL bad feeling Jim Chaney will go to Florida. I think he will be approached at the very least. It's seems like a perfect fit to me.

Jim Chaney would stink it up at Florida. I would be more scared by Jerry Kill. PJ Fleck from Western Michigan could get a call by a bigger school.

During the BC/FSU game, the announcers mentioned Addazio could leave BC if florida came calling. Anyone think he'll be interviewed? (Sorry if this has already been asked)
