UF recruiting Woes

This is truly funny but I imagine they will have the last laugh. I suspect that in September, we will leave Gainesville with a loss to them.
Regardless of our talent level vs. theirs, they will beat us. They have for years and likely will continue to.
There may be once in a ten year period that we win.

Really? Its not that bad.

Not this TENNESSEE team, them days are over different feel from years past, i look at them as about like Kentucky now, we will destroy them this year.

It is NOT over. Remember in 1998, we had our best team in decades but in Neyland, it took us overtime to beat them. And the win was due to them missing a field goal. We didn't stop them, they stopped themselves.
Think about it. Al Wilson had several caused fumbles yet we still had to go to overtime to win.....
When I look at our schedule, I see two automatic losses each season. Florida & Alabama......

They can finish dead last with this year's class and it'll have no effect on this year's game in Gainesville. Little doubt in my mind that UT will drop the 11th straight game to Florida in September. Much better chance to finally actually find a way to sneak out a win after lo these many years vs Florida in 2016 in Neyland.

2016, the Florida coach will have his new offense fully installed.

So will Tennessee, 4 years in, with a Senior QB and more talent and depth. If they can't finally beat Florida under those circumstances at home, they never will.

And they will still find a way to baptize us next year

Man I get tired of this crap. I sure hope the team doesn't think like the collective bunch of losers that make comments like this. New coach. .. New team. .. New approach. And yes I know Florida beat us this year gtf over it please.

Nothing personal to this poster.

A lot of teams are going to be kicking Florida around in 2015

Maybe, but don't bet heavily on the Vols. We lost to them at home this past year with a UF offense that was GARBAGE.

We play them in the Swamp next year and the Gators still have talent, especially on defense. Now, lose to them in '16, "NASA, we have a problem...."

Seriously, all you on here screaming about UF's demise because of this year's recruiting class should be ready for the absolute (and deserved) ungodly onslot of launched sewage that will follow if UF extends its streak next year. Just sayin'. If the streak goes past 2016, Vols should forfeit every game to the Gators until a Republican can win the White House. Seems like both are following similar paths.

It's not like McElwain can develop talent or anything...

I haven't pooped on him at all. I compared him to Golden but I think Golden is a good coach too. My main thing about your class right now is since he is a decent developer of talent I'm just suprised he hasn't pulled more 2&3☆ mid majors for now. Maybe you close with 10-15 studs and he's merely keeping room? I'm impressed you guys are all this calm about it tbh. Best of luck.

If the shoe was on any other foot I think you'd see it differently. In what alternate universe does Mason, with no DC have a more complete class than a brand new coach at UF?

And I get tired of idiots beating their chest and talking smack about how we're gonna stomp Florida with false bravado and unfounded certainty after a quarter century of consistent, embarrassing losses no matter the circumstances.

Ah. So you do feel the need to rationalize his poor recruiting to make yourself feel better.

Good luck with his "coaching them up" method. The best anyone has done with that is Mizzou. You can win a terrible East with that method and then get your AZZ handed to you in the SECCG.

Was it just this year or have I been asleep over the last decade? I think a wise philosopher by the name of the Nature Boy once said, "To be the man you have to beat the man"

If it comes to that in 2015...UF taking a beat down in the SECCG with our current roster...then Lord help Tennessee and the rest of the SEC going forward.

What's funny is these excuses have been repeatedly posted on VN ad nauseam...right about three years ago.

If the shoes was on the other foot, I'd worry about beating that rival on the field for the first time in a long time before taking any joy or suggesting that rival's fan base should be worried about a poor recruiting class.

Personally, I think McElwain loads up on some 3* types focusing on positions where we lack depth. We take our lumps this year and look towards a Top 10 haul next year.

All they have been talking about on Rivals is how hot Florida is this week on the recruiting trail getting 4 and 5* recruits to visit and having home visits-- saying Cowart and others are leaning that way... wonder if any of it sticks and they make a run at the end?

You are not a believer. It wasn't too long ago that UT ran off eight straight against bama. No one else has ever done that.

I am the same age as Peyton Manning. Went to UT the same time as Peyton Manning. Heard the same garbage for years of my childhood from adults about we will never beat Alabama ever. Then....just like Florida's situation now....Alabama had fallen from the graces....a legend in the making at QB lead Tennessee to a THUMPING of the Crimson Tide in Alabama and we started our own winning streak over them. Dobbs can do the same in Ben Griffin next year....no reason he can't.

Point is....programs rise as others fall....we have not been on the level playing field with Florida from a talent stand point for 7-8 of the last 10 years. If you can not see the talent gap has closed....Florida's best weapon was its defense and it 2 best game changers are bouncing to the NFL....I don't know what to tell you. Other than I grew up hearing and seeing the same thing with Alabama's streak and it finally turned the corner in our favor. All things come to an end....no matter how awful or everlasting they seem.
