Doubt it.

I wouldn't if I were him with the way he sells tickets.

Although, he should probably move up because there aren't a lot of guys he could talk crap to at middleweight that people would care about. People want to see him lose after he talks crap but he can beat the rest of the middleweights. Now light heavyweights... people would pay to see those fights after he ran his mouth because they could knock him senseless.

You can actually see how close the yellow of Silva's trunks are to Sonnen's ear. Does anybody still think this is a legal hit?

Looks legal to me. Silva's knee hit Sonnen in the left tit.

99% of the posters on the MMA forum believe it's a legal hit too and that includes most Sonnen fans. Only like three were complaining about it but they were also saying stuff like "Silva is a stupid mother****", "piece of ****", "****ing loser", "***hole" and so on. They weren't rational at all so their opinion doesn't matter to me if they can't be civilized.

You might just be on your own man. If you think it's illegal, you think it's illegal. You have every right to feel that way but it looks clean to me. To each their own.

And as I mentioned before, Chael said it was clean. As did Rogan and he'll tell it like it is even if it makes UFC look bad.

I just don't think the rule was put in place to prevent face to thigh contact, especially when the fighter on the ground ducks into it.

It doesn't matter what the spirit of the rule is. It is the rule. It's like the guy that turns the back of his head to you so you can't hit him. It's good defensive strategy within the rules. He was making as small of a legal hitting target as possible. What if you duck into an eye poke? It's still an illegal poke.

Shin, thigh, knee, foot...it's all the same.

SMH, whatever you want to tell yourself, just like LT is overrated. It was a legal hit and there isnt anything that says otherwise.

Here's another pic but I'm done debating this because we've reached a stalemate. I'm not gonna change my mind and you're not gonna change yours.

All I can says is... if the referee, Chael Sonnen, Joe Rogan, Mike Goldberg, Dana White and 99% of MMA fans are okay with it, then I am too. I think it was legal regardless of all those other opinions. It's not going to be overturned so it is what it is.

The rule was put in place because someone at Nsac saw a karate demo where knees and downward elbows were used. They decided they were to dangerous in some situations and outlawed them. Which is Fing stupid.

Whatever. You guys are the ones that can't even admit that his thigh is hitting his face when you can clearly see it in that freeze frame pic.

I'm over it. Like I said, I wasn't invested in the fight. The only reason I cared enough about this conversation to put the time in is the fact that I like being right. LMAO. We're getting nowhere.

Go to any MMA forum and the people arguing that it's illegal are outnumbered like 100 to 1.

The only people arguing either love Sonnen or hate Silva. And even then, I've seen tons of Sonnen fans telling other Sonnen fans they look pathetic because it was legit.

And since when does a thigh inflict damage?

And where in the rulebook does it say anything about a thigh accidentally touching someone's face while they're getting kneed in the chest?

We really should just quit because I have no idea what you're seeing and there is absolutely nothing illegal about that knee.

Too be fair that is not the initial contact, the other photos show that Silva's thigh hits Sonnen's face IMO
