It's a great win by a program that continues to win and will do so going forward.
Tokoto's 17 foot jumper will do wonders in the NBA. Damn I'm going to miss that thing of beauty. I'm also hearing (rumor) that a certain large individual who has no business going pro will also announce that he is going pro in the next day or so.
I feel like there can be a lot more to me as a player, more than just the defensive player who can occasionally dunk the ball, Tokoto told Yahoo Sports. I know I can be so much more, but Im not sure that Im pushed to be that much more [in college].
I want to focus on my game, working with trainers and pro coaches over the summer and next year. I think thatll give me the best chance to grow than staying in school and being that player that fit into the mold of my first three years [at Carolina].
Ouch, Roy. I will say, though, that I think he'd probably be right regardless of who his coach was.
Slip the NCAA and Emmert enough on the side, and yeah, I think so.
The dirt I think UNC has on the NCAA is how Emmert had already cleaned up a Swahili situation at Washington left by a former UNC provost. Then Emmert chose a former UNC football player to do the weak investigation at UNC first time around. UNC is poised to say Emmert knew about these issues years ago - which is not inaccurate.
The NCAA is a joke, which is why I'm not too worried.
Hell, Miami openly knew of a booster paying for hookers and blow for the football team (like a bad episode of "Miami Vice") and didn't even get punished for it (best I remember). PSU was openly enabling a pedophile on its campus, and, while they did get harsh penalties initially, it turned out only temporary and now it's back to business as usual with only one or two years of being down.
Once Cal leaves UK, whenever that is, that will be another interesting one. I mean, seriously, is there any doubt those kids get paid more than the school faculty and administration? Geez. But, unlike his last stops, UK is too big to fail, like a bad investment bank.
After the NCAA slaps UNC on the wrist and turns a blind eye to Cal's tenure at UK, it will be interesting to see how much longer it (the NCAA) can survive as a nominal institution.
