I don't think Coach K has necessarily adopted the "one and done" method. I think this year he just happened to have some guys declare after being on a high of winning an NCAA championship. Tyus Jones/Winslow are not NBA ready. Next year or a the year after will show wether he has or not. He's obviously proved he can win without it as have guys like Izzo.

I think you're wrong about Winslow. That kid is a beast. Jones is a winner, but I'm not sure how he will translate to the NBA, although his style reminds me of Tony Parker.

Irving, Rivers, Parker, Winslow and Okafor say he's definitely adopted it. From the looks of it, the next few recruiting classes will be more of the same.

Coach K gets paid to win and keep the university viewed in a positive light. He does both very well. It is not K or Cals fault that one and done is the reality of college basketball landscape. Is one and done really that much worse then 3 and done when the kid doesn't get his diploma? I don't think so in terms of viewing college as being about graduating. It does hurt both the pro and college game IMO. I do find it funny that Cal was viewed as too dirty last time around and now Cat fans get offended we you even hint he has issues.

Oh it's Glorious. Morale cannot be too good right now in Chapel Hill. Losing a kid from Kinston has to be crushing, especially with Stackhouse and Bullock in his ear.

The bolded text pretty much sums up my feelings. I know it's all relative, but it's starting to feel Dooley-esque around recruiting right now. If Roy doesn't knock it out of the park with the class of '16, I think we're in for a prolonged rough period.

This may surprise you since I have been a Duke fan since 1981, I sincerely hope that UNC can get it together. The rivalry suffers when it's one sided and I never want that to happen.

Agreed. I like laughing at Carolina when they lose to Iowa or Belmont, but I don't want them to actually be a bad team.

Well the morale in Durham was pretty low after your '09 Championship and Barnes skyping his commitment to UNC and we've all seen what has happened since. Don't mistake my empathy as not taking joy in Duke's recent success or UNC's lack of success (up to their championship/Final 4 standards), but I remember thinking it was getting time for K to head off to the sunset. Things have changed dramatically in 5 years, Duke has won 2 titles and has recruited great talent. I will say if UNC has anything less than an Elite 8 showing next year, maybe even Final 4 appearance The Ram's Club and the natives will be very restless with Ol' Roy. It's important for Roy to also at the very least to split with Duke next season.

SUPPOSEDLY Jayson Tatum and Harry Giles are looking at being a "package deal" and the Tar Heels are in good standing with each, to the best of my knowledge. I know that Giles has been to Chapel Hill many times on his own time.

When I saw him in a wheelchair at Coach Smith's memorial service and he didn't speak, I didn't think it would be long. He didn't look healthy.

RIP Coach Gut.

Just wondering, how many think the NCAA punishes them hard for these allegations?

It seems like this has been going on forever, and I assume the case with Miami got dropped, which I do not understand with all the pictures that guy had.
