I agree, the guard play has not been what we thought, the good thing is they continue to scrap which alludes to good coaching imho. This season is what it is, however, there are some young players getting trial by fire and learning to play in this league. Think back two seasons ago, GW, JB, KA, and AS went through kind of the same thing and look what happened last season. With that, combined with the kids coming in, I am very optimistic about next season, could be historic!I expected the Vols to be one of the top 3 teams in the SEC this season. But, I had to adjust my expectations when I realized that Turner was injured and Bowden couldn't shoot anymore. That put undue pressure on JJJ. Our guards should have been the strength of this team, but they turned out to be our biggest weakness. A healthy Turner and a 2018-19 version of Bowden (37.8% 3pt.%) and we're as good as anybody in the SEC--maybe better.
