If we do wear a throwback like that, I hope we don't put a huge power T in the middle of the jerseys like Michigan did with the M on their throwbacks...Just thought it looked so out of place.

All dark gray with orange numbers and white trim. No stripes on pants would look amazing. Throw in dark gray helmet with Orange power T with white outline. With dark gray/orange cleats...

You know if we go with the striped shirts as shown, with the helmet with the numbers on the side, we would effectively be doing a 100 year throwback (1913ish jersey) and a 50 year throwback (1963ish helmet).

Very symbolic and almost too coincidental when combined with the evidence from Deer Park that perhaps the AD has reached out to get samples of old uniforms and has been examining old photographs.

I tend to think the helmet should still be white with orange trim and that the cleats should go back to black.

The stripes on the pants, especially if the pants are grey, would almost be required to tie the top and bottom together.

Wisconsin did it too - Not sure but Nebraska may have also - I did however think NDs combat unis looked good at least on TV - going by NDs combat helmet can a poster/designer come up with something similar for UT ?

I liked this thought so I did one up like the Redskins used when they did their 80th anniversary unis. You can't really see it on this size image but there's a subtle leathery pattern on the helmets.

Yuk. Leave tan and/or brown out when the jerseys are grey. If we were to use the grey jerseys leave the helmet the way it is and go with white pants with either three orange stripes or one on either side of grey. If you go with orange pants it wouldn't look right with the white helmet and we KNOW the helmet will not be orange because you can't match it.

Well, the team wore that in the past. It would work well if executed like Washington's unis.

Would it be overkill to add an old school, thin line Orange "T" on the helment? Either way, I kinda like these. :good!:

So people don't like black uniforms but they like those hideous tan ones? interesting I appreciate the time spent doing them, but that tan throwback would be the laughing stock of the nation if we came out in those.

So I guess you thought the widely acclaimed Packers throwbacks and the Redskins throwbacks were the laughingstock of the nation?

I think tan pants, a brown "leather" textured helmet, and a gray and orange jersey would be on the same level if not uglier and garner as much negative publicity as Maryland. I'm all for a throwback or gray uni's but tan and/or brown with it is brutal.
