Can't be serious! You think the tan looks good? Now that's bad taste, absolutely hideous, good thing you're in the minority there. How can you not like an orange and white helmet? Jack-o-lantern? It's orange with a white T and some checkerboards, what's not to like. The tan crap is totally out of nowhere.

Except it isn't. The jersey was meant to be a throwback look. The tan is supposed to look like the plain leather helmets and brown pants of the time. I personally don't care for that look on modern unis, but understand what it is supposed to be. I loved the Packers throwback jerseys, but would have preferred they just took the modern pants and helmet and replaced the green with blue. In theory, it seems like a good idea. It just doesn't translate too well to modern uniforms IMO.

Not even close to the same thing. The only part similar would be the jersey. Everything else is different than what we wore.

I still think those tan throwbacks are complete garbage when it comes to appealing to the eyes. Outside of historically accurate, which they barely match, what makes you think they are good looking? Two different shades of brown, and then a gray uniform with orange on it. How is that even close to being aesthetically pleasing? If you like them just because of the history, then ok, but if you are trying to argue that they look good then wow.

Side note, I would only want to see us wear the black uniforms on a Halloween weekend game (still don't prefer them). Would much rather see the team in all orange.

Anyways, the only people arguing for black, as I said earlier, are 40 year old men or rednecks who don't realize that trend isn't cool anymore. It's been an interesting shift. Argue for alts for recruits, sure, but at least pull your head out of your ass long enough to be creative.

I wouldn't say the people arguing for black are 40 year old men. I would guess it would be the younger crowd. Unless 40 is young to you? I do agree that the black uniforms are pretty cliche.

I'd say younger people want chrome helmets and jerseys with weird details typically not in black. See: vast majority of crappy Nebraska uni reaction.

Didn't we do a throwback similar to the 1971 uniforms a few years ago? I was trying to look for pictures but could not remember when it was. Seems like it was while Ainge was playing

Wow, this is as backwards as you can get. All the young crowd and recruits love the black and I guarantee they would hate the tan. You just can't stand someone not liking what you do and liking the black. Which actually is not what I like best, but waaaaay better than tan. There have been lots of great concepts of orange and white that are very creative, the tan is not creative. It's ugly and that's why you've never seen it mentioned anywhere else. The black/orange and white/ orange concepts are everywhere especially twitter with the recruits loving them. It's the old people who hate the black and modern designs.
Also, I do read this thread and yes, you are the extreme minority. This tan crap exists here only with all 5 of you going back and forth. The other concepts are everywhere. Do a vote thread with a tan concept, white/orange concept, and black concept and see who finishes a distant last.

Yes the EXTREME minority among those who are in favor of alt uniforms, and in general as well. Did you see the crowd reaction? They knew the old blue hairs would complain. Those few calls meant nothing compared to that crowd reaction, and that was just a simple jersey color change. Imagine one these good ones.

I consider myself a traditionalist, but I do like these as a one game a year thing.
