Uniform/Helmet/Shoe design thread (merged)

Butch said, when asked about uni's, something along the lines of this: "In this day and age, in recruiting, it's something you have to look into. We have great traditions at Tennessee, and we know that. We're looking into it, and we will do what's best for our program. It's something you might see, but no matter what we do, we're going to respect the traditions of the University of Tennessee."

I love Oregon's unis, but I dont think there is anything we can wear that will make that game not be ugly as far as color goes. Our orange will clash with their yellow no matter what and millions across the country will need Lasik after the game.

Yeah, I predict people all over the country will be attempting to adjust the gamma and contrast settings on their TV's! :eek:lol:

I like Oregon's uni's too! I like the fact that their tradition is that they HAVE no tradition when it comes to uniforms! That's unique and quite brilliant in concept. The only thing I don't like about their uniforms is the font they use for their numbers. I think it's ugly and would look better using a standard "block" number design.

Which goes along with pretty much everything DP has said and matches up to the leaks we've seen.

"Speaking of merchandise, as we've continued to outline Tennessee is in the process of examining and then negotiating its apparel deal moving forward, with its pact with adidas set to expire following the 2014-15 athletic calendar but resolution coming well before then. Both Nike and Under Armour have emerged as serious players, and VolQuest.com has been told that coaches in Tennessee's spring sports have been urged to order their needed items but to focus on simply ordering replacements from a year ago and not to branch out into all-new items."

HUbbs reporting this morning that he has been led to believe that "TENNESSEE" may be on chest of both Home and Away Unis.

Someone posted an Instagram video where a few players were filming a promo video, maybe for the jumbotron?, and were in the new unis. TENNESSEE is not on the chest in these home uniforms, but rather a power T that is only a bit larger than what has been on the uniform the past few years. It also has been flipped with the adidas logo.

Agree, i've seen that as well. That is why I am suprised. A poster specifically questioned what was wrote in the warroom, and Hubbs reiterated it. Maybe thats why they havent been unvieled?

Brent - clear up some uniform talk Reply

The War Room was very confusing. You said the word "TENNESSEE" has been added to the home and away jersey. Originally it was reported that only the road uni would feature "TENNESSEE" above the front numbers. It also said the checkerboard pattern on the orange numbers of the home jersey has been well received. I assume you meant the orange numbers on the road unis, correct?

HUbbs:yes, it should be the numbers on the road jerseys regarding the checkerboard look. I edited it. We have heard that Tennessee is going to be on both home and away uniforms.

Looks like my unis on ncaa are gonna have to be fixed. Maybe a tennessee uniform collection patch with the black and new gray jerseys included

Whoever told Hubbs is probably just misinformed. These unis have been under pretty tight wraps. Honestly surprised nothing more than that video from instagram has been leaked yet.

DP may be able to clear this up but if I'm not mistaken EA Sports gets uniform templates from every team when they incorporate the jerseys. I'm pretty sure teams tell EA which uniforms they want in the game. Thats why with the first pro combat jersey that Florida did(worn on Tebow's senior day) the white helmet with modern font F on the side is not included. I could be wrong. I'd be willing to bet big money the jerseys we see in the EA screen shots will be the ones on the field.

That second part is not accurate. Both baseball and softball will have at least two totally new sets of uniforms this spring.
