After the fiasco at Ohio State, I don't think they will be hosting a CFP game this year.
The powers that be have already forgotten about that and will seed accordingly.
They are just thankful no harmful mustard bottles were used during the melee, that woulda been a whole other issue...

Don't think Oregon falls that far.will be the 5 . Now if uga loses to t.u. maybe with a third loss. Maybe. I think osu falls to the 8 to 10 range. Hopefully

That’s pretty fair. It was a rout for everyone who watched the full game. I mean we went on a 36-3 run. I dislike how espn who has Ohio state ahead of us headline was like “Vols narrowly avoid upset”

They will not reward them with a homefield playoff game.
Looked like a Jan 6, 2021 on a smaller scale. Spears and I thought I saw a Shaman.
It is not a good look and had it been fans ok
It was not. Lack of Control.

They’ll give them a chance to atone for their actions, with a first round host.

I’ll believe it when I see it, but they shouldn’t host, IMO. Their loss to Michigan was worse than our loss to Arky because they lost at home and we lost on the road.

If Oregon beats PSU, they will fall below UT.

If UGA beats UTx, they will fall below UT.

If UTx beats UGA, they should fall below UT.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's the way I see it.
Everything is an assumption at this point. What we don't know for sure is how the championship game losers will be impacted. Does their performance and how they look in the game matter? If they are all close games I don't see them getting dropped very far in the rankings.

She has a three loss UGA hosting. If they lose the championship I think they’ll still be in but I don’t think they should host.

It's not about losing. Who did they beat??? Pretty much nobody. Indiana is a fraud and everybody knows that. And those gators keep pushing our SOS higher and higher.
It doesn’t matter if Indiana is a fraud. They’re currently ranked in the top ten. That, along with PSU, gives Ohio State 2 top ten wins. Tennessee currently has zero. The committee will fall back I that to keep OSU ranked above TN.

They gotta keep that narrative of "SEE!!! The B1G 10 is just as good as the SEC!!!! We can hang with them" while trying to set up every advantage for B1G 10 teams that they can, i.e. home field advantage.

Even Tim Brando last night commentating the Indiana vs Purdue (1-10) game said multiple times "Look, Indiana is back!! They have their swagger!!! They're for sure in the playoffs"............additionally he added (direct quote) "To all my people in the south, take note, losses matter." Its a narrative.......sort of like a recent election......keep saying it to try and make it true.

I am just not convinced OSU falls below us. They are currently sitting at # 2 in the CFP rankings, and one of their losses was to the undefeated # 1 ranked team by a single point on the road. That is about as good of a loss as you can have. I think we may end up playing in Columbus. Best case imo is we get matched up with Indiana.
Losing a road game at #1 by 1 point is the best loss u can have, but isn't a home loss to a 20 point unranked underdog the worst loss u can have?? IIRC a few weeks ago the committee noted how our offense looked to justify where they put us in the rankings. OSU scored 10 points at home vs an inferior opponent. Nobody held us to 10 points at home.

Georgia will not and should not get penalized for losing the SEC Title game just because its a 3rd loss

The committee likely sets it up where the winner/loser of the BIG & SEC CCGs are interchangeable in their final seeding. For instance, the Oregon & Penn State winner will be #1 and the loser will be seed #5. Texas & Georgia will probably be seeds #2 & #6 or 7. Doesn’t punish the lower-ranked loser of the CCGs.

The SMU & Clemson matchup is different. If SMU wins, Miami will remain in the field. If Clemson wins, SMU drops to where Miami is while the Hurricanes drop out. I think Miami will be the “last team in” on Tuesday for just this scenario.

The thing that could really shake-up the CFP is a Clemson victory. After losing to USC this weekend, they will drop further in the rankings, definitely behind Arizona State & Iowa State. Thus, if they win the ACCCG, they would likely be the lowest-ranked conference champion.

Boise St, should they win against UNLV, would be the 3 seed, with the Big 12 winner the 4th. Clemson would be the 12 seed.

Even wilder is if both Clemson AND UNLV win their conference championship games. Does that knock Boise St out of the playoffs? You could potentially see the Arizona State/Iowa State winner at 3, Clemson at 4, and UNLV at 12. THAT would be come chaos.
