Urban challenging Slive?

Yeah, I'm quite sure that Urban is so unfazed....He's really a cool dude . However, I still remember the year one- Urban Myer, who was so unfazed, that when interviewed on TV during the bama game beatdown...that he couldn't even put a coherent, or recognizable sentence together.

For me it has been fun watching the unraveling of Meyer this year. He comes into the league and is immediately the golden boy. He has this high flying offense and the top recruit in the nation (Tebow). He wins big his 1st year and is immediately the big guy in the SEC. Life is good.

Then Bama hires Saban; a guy with a BCSC and NFL HC experience on his resume. Soon his position as top dog is challenged.

Then UT hires Kiffin; a guy with BCSC experience at USC and NFL HC experience. Kiffin immediately sets his sights on the big dog calling him out in his first press conference (at the request of MH).

Kiffin then steals a prized recruit right out from under his nose.

Kiffin in an attempt to fire up boosters says Urban broke the rules. No worries; Foley to the rescue. But it grates on him.

It grates on him so much that he has motivational signs created and posted around the UF locker room. He prepares his team to crush the young arrogant pup. The sports world itself prepares for the pup to receive a beat down at the hands of Meyer. Only it doesn’t happen. Kiffin has a well coached and well prepared team that garners respect of the sporting world at the expense of Meyer.

Questionable calls from referees provide an excuse for Kiffin to take another swipe at Meyer. No worries, Slive to the rescue. But it is still there like an annoying thorn.

His team continues to win but despite the record he knows there are problems and he sees Saban waiting for him in Atlanta.

Then the Spikes incident happens. He delivers a light penalty. Who cares; he is the big dog, he is Meyer. His buddy Slive rides in to condone the coach’s decision. But wait. There is outrage. The golden boy is receiving heat from the sporting world and there is nothing Foley or Slive can do to help.

Meyer cracks, “but … but… their guy did something bad too” and unwittingly steps into the trap Slive set for Kiffin.

It has been a beautiful thing to watch. The big dog is being bounced from his perch.

That was four years and two national championships ago.

Yeah, seems that things are beginning to come full circle for ole Urban...sorta like old Bobby, except that it took a lot longer at FSU. :)

No, I don't think that's it at all.

UF is still recruiting very well, and I expect us to be favored next year in Knoxville. Whether we win or not is another story, but I'm very optimistic....as are you from what I can gather.

You can't put Kiffin and Meyer on equal footing here simply because the harsher rules came down because Kiffin kept taking a dump on Slive's previous reprimands.

Had Kiffin said something this week, after the rules were changed because of things HE said in the past, I would expect the penalties to be much more harsh than if it were Richt, Petrino, Mullen or Meyer.

So in other words, it's like defensive encroachment: urbie has a free play and can pretty much say whatever he wants. OK... got it. the hubris of you gator trolls is nothing short of amazing. But thanks for verifying that even YOU feel slive has a vendetta out for CLK.

I got as far as the first highlighted sentence and literally laughed out loud. Urban unraveled? :eek:lol: Hysterical.

I couldn't force myself to read the rest, but I'm sure the rest of the lengthy post contains a heavily biased portrayal of events that could only be concocted by a hard core Gator hating Vol offered up as a salve to soothe his own wounds and those of his fellow VN crew that have been caused by the evil Gator Nation for their years of torment at the hands of Spurrier and Meyer.

It no doubt contains looney rants which portrays Lane Kiffin as the young brilliant gun slinger with Meyer and Slive as the evil empire that is conspiring to get UF their third title in 4 years.

I bet it's nice living there in your own orange alternate universe. :good!:

Yes, you could say that. I don't think that most gators realize just how much Tebow means to your W's vs. L's record...but, I could be wrong. :hi: And, I will take the Vols coaching staff everytime, in all situations! And, btw...I hope that the gators are favored in Knoxville next year...it's gonna be real sweet.

Also, and I confess I don't know the rule that well, is suspension for first offense or multiple?
Posted via VolNation Mobile

If CUM says it... multiple.. if it would ever be enforced at all. If CLK even thinks it... he gone.

Two Bits, do you really believe that the gators will even win the SEC?

I'll believe it when I see it...:no1:

.

It seems you all believe it because Meyer and Slive will make it happen, so why shouldn't I?

Because you really believe the gators are head and shoulders the best team in the country right now... and you would never admit it even if CUM told you himself...

Our defense has as much if nto more to say about our W-L record, especially this year. Tebow has been average at best this season.

But you guys will have your own QB issues next season when Stephens takes over. John Brantley will be just fine as our QB in '10 and '11.....followed by Trey Burton in '12 and '13.

I'm not sold on Taylor Bray at all after Stephens leaves.

It is fruitless to speculate about counterfactual situations.

True.. but that's why you have no credibility here, and your program gets no respect. You refuse to recognize that the stars have in fact aligned for you, but when you strip off all the fluff, ya'll really aren't THAT good. It will become clear next year when St Tim is gone, spikes is in prison, urbie is at ND and you have to actually rely on other players to move the ball down the field. If I were in your shoes.. I'd try to get as much mileage out of this horse as possible too. But I really don't think I would be so arrogant in another teams' fan site, because karma is in fact.. a *****. Not to mention that I actually have a life outside these boards, but I am a UT fan, and wouldn't be caught dead trolling on swampgas or whatever your site is... But as I have said many times before, you are a minor irritant, because we all know you will be nowhere near this board next year, and for that we are all thankful. So enjoy these times troll, I hope LSU kills ya'll in the SECCG

Added: Counterfactual? Do you really think you have a tougher schedule than even TCU? You really are dilusional.

Relax man, it's just football. :salute:

I asked about winning the SEC...You might have overlooked that Bama is in a position to win the NCAA also; and that satan has kept his mouth shut...Hummm, that might be ok situation for ole Slive too! All bets are off when the SECC game is played. :hi: And, NEVER forget that bama begets bags of money, and magical flags.

I don't expect Meyer to get a free pass, but I think you're kidding yourself if you think the two strikes Kiffin already earned with Slive has anything to do with some sort of vendetta.

We'll never see eye to eye on this simply because you're in the camp that thinks there's some Meyer/Slive conspiracy.

Bama has to win Saturday to get there.

Slive said any further public comments about officiating would get fines and suspensions. None were handed out to Meyer just days after his announcement. Spin it any way you want but this smells

Tebow has been average.. accounts for almost all your offense.. and you are still ranked number 1. What does that tell you about the REST of your team? It should speak volumes. It's called one dimensional. You will hear that a lot next year.

But really...tell us all again why we care what you think?
