Urban challenging Slive?

Well as mentioned ...Everyone thought Kiffin would be the first one to warrant a reprimand concerning this issue. Kiffin was smart enough to say "No comment" when the press tried to bait him however Urbie's panies were in such a bunch that he just had to say something...Eating the popcorn, laughing my A$$ off and waiting for Slime to at least pretend he has some balls.:post-4-1090547912::search:

Worst case he'll be reprimanded. They're talking suspension to send a message. Stay tuned....

What I don't get is how all of a sudden Florida, the only school to have an SEC title vacated for doing what Bama's done for years, and no championship history or "tradition" to speak of until the 90s, is now some sacred cow the SEC must protect at all costs.

Bottom line is the call Meyer is alluding to was in fact a personal foul.

Well, according to Chris Low, people all over the SEC seem to think Slive has no choice. Has to at least fine him.

The only thing that will have any teeth is if the SEC starts imposing recruiting restrictions.

Not surprised. According to LG, Lowe is a UT homer. [sarcasm]

I read Lowe's stuff daily. He's fairly objective most of the time, but a little bit of UT homerism shows through at times. Rarely enough to bother me, though.

Not really, being right has nothing to do with what Slive is talking about.

Its how you go about getting your opinion across. Plain and simple.

On that point we agree.

I was speaking to other posters who inferred that Meyer made his comments to show up Kiffin....sorry about that.

he won't suspend him...but i think slive is in a position where he has to fine him

a suspension would be a bonus

I don't think that was Meyer's motive. He is trying to protect his best player til the end of the season. Can't fault him for that. IMO. He can't afford for Tebow to go down with an injury, especially with what happened to him earlier in the year.

Meyer has not figured out a good way to keep Tebow from taking shots this year. He is leaning heavy on him this year.

I don't think a suspension is warranted based on the comments, but the timing definitely warrants a fine and a letter of reprimand.

Slive has no choice, in spite of all the conspiracy theories flying around.

Meyer has really done some damage to his public image not only in terms of class and integrity but intelligence as well -- by how poorly he's handling the whole Spikes thing and the officiating in the game. Duh!

He's hurt Florida's and the SEC's image much more than was necessary as well. Swift issuance of a full game suspension, Spikes appology and keeping his mouth shut about officiating and anything UGA players may have done would have been the smart and proper way to handle it. And the media coverage would have been much more favorable.

Kiffin definitely played a major role in getting the rules toughened

then meyer walks into the bear trap slive tried to set for kiffin

love it

Meyer has to lean on him...Tebow's two biggest insurance policies are earning paychecks in Minnesota and Oakland. Other than Cooper and Hernandez our receivers have been invisible.

The two events are mutually exclusive.

Spikes going after Ealey's eyes should have no bearing on Meyer being concerned about late hits on Tebow, and making those concerns known to the league office.

You wouldn't be the Lawrence Wright that played under Spurrier by any chance would you?
