What are some of your thoughts on the timeline given for the investigation/decision?

I think the longer this goes on the less likely it is he is dismissed as coach. That is unless more info or incidents are brought to light.

this. they are just getting their story together, and silencing/burying what they can.

The decision was made before they ever went public with an internal investigation.

When Meyer went public with the statement he did and recanted his media day lie, the writing was on the wall.

My first reaction was that his public statement was part of a larger strategy in collusion with OStU to try and somehow keep Urban on.

After letting his statement sink in it became clear the implications of his assurances he reported were. That people at the highest levels of OStU were notified but nothing happened. The implications there are obvious and any public confirmation by the University in an attempt to shield Urban would exposed them.

But the longer this drags out I just can't help but wonder. A clean break would already have been made it that's what it was going to be one would think.

Not necessarily the case present day. There's the whole MeToo thing taking place, focus on domestic violence, Title IX, not to mention one side politically in our country pushing a mantra the current POTUS is a (fill in the blank) concerning women. That's a toxic mix to try to push on behalf of a fellow employing and lying for a wife beater.

I've seen a few folks say "well, Schiano was on staff in 2015 when this happened; that's why he wasn't picked for interim HC."

Doesn't ring true. Since when was a defensive coordinator responsible for the actions of the head coach in regards to an offense staff member?

So, in reality, there is no reason OSU couldn't have pushed Schiano into that interim position except for "he sucks and even they know it and they didn't do it."

All the coaches wives were tight...so if Urban’s knew? All the assistant coaches knew.
