It's sad for the ones that have a good heart. Wondering what they could have been given the right cards to play. Not everybody is a bad guy, but there are way way more than most people realize, obviously. They don't walk around in uniforms that say "Taliban" on it. So easy for the local population to say they were innocent civilians.

They don't even know we are freaking free. They thought George Bush was a dictator. They think our government is just as corrupt as theirs. My friend spent 3 of the last 5 years in Jordan and Egypt mostly, but all over the Muslim world, and the common man doesn't know about our freedom.

right. I guess what I mean is that many never had a choice to think about it. No education save for the taliban teachings. Hard to have a good heart when you're not brought up in a place that affords it.

Kill one of us and we'll kill 1000 of you. No matter the cost, even my life if need be. I've accepted that fact and live with it everyday. So must my family. It's like I'm being driven by something. Pride, glory? I have no answer for that.

Don't need sympathy, though. Just send me more weapons and ammunition. Maybe some Copenhagen to keep me company.

That is absolutely untrue. I have personally talked to many common men in the region who not only know about our freedom but desire it for themselves. I would assume that somewhat prosperous countries like Jordan and Egypt would have a different outlook because they feel a bit more equal to us and more likely to defend their own way. I would also assume your friend probably dealt with professional class people and only got a filtered view of the common man's viewpoint. One on one, when there is little fear of being overheard, the average person (obviously not an extremist) will tell you he wants what we have.

Quit playing both sides of the fence. Destroy any terrorist groups who would attack or promote the attack of Americans. This would include the Saudis, PLO, Hamas and any others who spring up. Because we like to ignore the links to the popular terrorists and only attack the ones who have lost favor on the world stage, we will not be able to root out the leadership responsible.

They hate us because of our religion. There can never be peace with the Muslim world because they see it as their duty to take command of the world in the name of Islam. Anyone who does not convert should be killed or enslaved. I refuse to do either.
