US may have killed Quds Force Commander Qasem Soleimani

Ok, I see what you are saying. I think you may not be clear to what the accusation is. The accusation is that Soleimani was in Benghazi actively involved in the embassy attack and also involved in the funneling of weapons to Syria. This is what doesn't make sense.

I think me and you agree that the only logical explanation (which is what I read a few hours before) is that Soleimani was made aware of the Benghazi gun running and made an attempt to stop it. As far as him personally having boots on the ground in Benghazi at the time, that is hard to say.
Yes, I think we are on the same page now. And I was not clear on the theory. Thanks for clearing that up.

As far as him having boots on the ground I think it likely, if the theory is correct that, he was nearby manufacturing the outcry to locals for action. It's obvious to me that someone with sophisticated intelligence apparatus and a long reach was involved.

So now we're not leaving Iraq until it pays us billions of dollars. Meanwhile, we're wanting to charge our allies billions of dollars for us to stay there.

Makes perfect sense.

At least we're trying to get somebody else to pay for our military for a change. I like it. What if we just quit dumping "foreign aid" all over the globe? Buying friends is expensive, and frankly we don't seem to be getting much for the investment.

That statement is an impeachable offense.

So blame Muslim extremists and not all Muslims. They should be afforded the same benefit of the doubt you allow your own religion, correct? Yet I continually see attacks on here against all who follow Islam. Not saying you, but it happens, and I'm expressing my disagreement.

I think the problem some of us have is with religions that are also governments and control countries ... particularly when those countries behave in the same way that other bullies around the world behave. Catholicism appears to have given up that quest and settled for domination through procreation. Islamic nations apparently haven't give up on either being difficult to live with or global expansion; yes, there certainly are good people of that faith, but it doesn't excuse the bad behavior of theocracies and the terrorism they support. That is the difference.

Does anybody here really, truly believe that Trump's desire to have a distraction from impeachment and some sort of "win" played absolutely NO role in his decision? No role at all?

Come on.
😄😆😂🤣

Why would he need a distraction? The whole thing has been a circus and his approval has went up since it started. It will be discarded as soon as Nancy actually passes it along like she is required to do.

If anyone involved in the impeachment needed a distraction from it it would be Nancy and the dimocrats.

I thought it was warthogs that made that distinguished sound?
Apparently that gun is used on multiple aircraft, interesting that a chopper could maintain stability to keep the rounds on target. Then again when you send that many downrange accuracy isn't nearly as important.

I was thinking Apache. But it sounds like there is a mini gun being used so maybe a AH-6.
Look at the angle of fire. The rounds are coming straight down. Wouldn’t a helicopter have to be in a dive to achieve that angle of fire?

Plus the 2nd and 3rd volleys come pretty quick... enough time for a helicopter to strafe and come back around? Idk.

At this point, what's done is done. You're not bringing the guy back to life.

The time for hand wringing and pointing fingers should be behind us. Our country, and especially our government, should be presenting a united front. No one wants war, but infighting does not help us in any way.

No it's the perfect time for all the Trump supporters to forget all about the "bring our troops home" mantra, talk about pallets of cash, and blame Obama.

So, a vote against killing terrorist numero uno, and Hez leaders.
You're consistent.

The idea that it was a “defensive action” to preemptively assassinate the second most powerful individual in Iran is simply laughable. I don’t believe there was an imminent attack for one second.

This is what the geographically illiterate don’t understand. Iran’s military is clearly superior to that of Iraq, but Iran is a large country that sits on a plateau filled with rough terrain and mountains. What is the end goal exactly?

I think it's laughable that some guy on a keyboard knows more than our military intel, SoS, and Congress who have been briefed and are not echoing your assertion.

Beyond killing a guy responsible for hundreds of U.S. deaths and/or preventing more, there doesn't have to be an end goal. Such action should always be a 'goal'.

You're not. Instead of bringing our troops home, we are trying to force Iraq to accept more. Hypocrisy at its finest from the Trump nut jockeys. In reality, Pulling our troops back from the Syria/Turkey border and assassinating the #2 from Iran were both stupid moves by the Idiot in Chief.

It's an Apache and more than one. At the 13 second mark of this video when it goes to night vision is the same as the video.
