I've not even questioned the intelligence on this. What's done is done as far as I'm concerned. There's no going back, but yes I trust the IC's assessment of Russia elections interference over that of the Right wing Trump supporting echo chamber.

So are we going to find those missing emails in Ukraine or some fat guys basement? What's your working theory?

If the Democrats had done anything at all during this time Trump would be doomed. But neither side wants to act like an adult. So for many, the child that at least was doing something somewhat productive is a more respectable vote.

I hate that we have gotten to this point.

If the Dems didn't pursue impeachment, the vast majority of their base would be outraged with them and would replace them with more hardliners like "the Squad." Politicians, by definition, do and say things that will help them get re-elected. They are just responding to what their electorate demands.

For as much grief as McConnell got (and it was deserved) for his comment that his goal in the Senate was to "make Barack Obama a one-term President," the Dems seem to have taken that attitude one step further against Trump. Their 2020 message will be 90% Trump should be removed from office, 10% free s**t brigade. Unless there's a recession between now and election day, they have very little chance at defeating him.

I don't think it was an AC-130. Those use side firing guns. The video looked more like a stationary rather than an orbiting gun platform. Very impressive, and good to know the Army has that kind of firepower. My dad always complained that the Air Force didn't pay enough attention to close air support; he flew P-47s in WW2 and fighter interceptors until he retired in 1960.

This is what we were watching . Also very cool your dad flew the P-47 . They have actual mission footage on YouTube , if you wanted to see more of it .

It's always hard to tell from video clips, but the trajectory looks too flat and stationary for a circling AC-130. I did originally think AC-130 with the big bursts from the artillery piece they carry in the back, but I agree with the the other analysis ... something like an Apache with a gun and missiles. Either one should definitely make somebody on the ground think twice about stirring up trouble.

Looks like never. And unfortunately, some of the "patriots" in here and around the country on the right side of the aisle are just fine with perpetual war in the sandbox.
