you do realize that's basically a full 1/2 yard better per carry right? which could translate to between 10-15 yards a game, 3-4 more 1st downs a game, which could add another 10 minutes or so to TOP?Our rushing stats were similar to USC last season (4.1 vs 3.7 per). And I expect our run game to improve as well.
There's always a chance. I don't see a game on UT's schedule that they can't win.
Most here would rather see a 7-5/8-4 season so they can say I told you so. If it happens I will be as upset as anyone but I will never cheer for UT to lose just so I can be right.
Disclaimer: I enter every season thinking UT will win every game and don't know any other way. I've been disappointed every year but 1. (looked like a freakin genius that year!)

and i did use "could" in my post. not "would".That's not a linear analysis with proven correlations. To equate 0.4 ypc to 10 minutes in TOP is incorrect. Both averages equate to runnning it three times for a first down.

see, that's what gets me. No one takes in to account what a team actually does........it's all about name recognition. that's the whole problem with polls these days. those teams you mentioned above, like it or not, deserving or not, all play in a BCS conf. If one of htem were to go undefeated they would not get a shot simply because of the "name" written across their chest.
Let me ask a question......how does a school get tradition? tradition has to start somewhere, and under the current system, it's not even possible to do so, because they don't have any to begin with.
ridiculous.
:good!: whatever. you and i both know if Rutgers had beaten L'ville and WVU and finished undefeated, they would not have gotten a shot at the NT. and it would have only been for one reason. the word "rutgers" written across the front of the jersey.Listen... way to read the sentence right before that... I said that **does not** mean that the team isn't any good.. it's just weird.
Way to rip my post and turn it into something it isn't. Either way, I'll never give a team like Rutgers my respect untill they continue to have success after Schiano leaves. I'm not degrading these no-namers.. but it's just sad to have the Big East turn into such an unknown league.
remember we operate in a college football world that sent a team that finished 3rd in it's conf. to the national title game......Nebraska. the same world that sent a team that lost it's conf. championship game, OK, to the national title game.

Yep, I remember that Nebraska team. They lost 62-37 or something like that to Colorado I believe and they went on to the championship game. Then, the next year Oklahoma was defeated to Kansas State in the Big 12 champ game only to advance on to the national championship to lost to USC very badly.
thank you for proving my point.I'd rather watch Ohio State get blown out by Florida in the N.C. game rather than Rutgers getting blown out by Florida (if they were to have gone undefeated last year).
can't remember. but i'm sure there were other CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS those years that could make better cases than the 2nd and 3rd place teams in the Big 12.Was there an undefeated team around that got screwed over in favor of those teams?
thank you for proving my point.
