UT/VA Tech @ Bristol?

Sounds interesting, but y'all can yell while I watch on t.v. Went to Titans game recently; LP Field much smaller than Neyland, yet view of the action isn't nearly as good as in Knoxville. Racetrack perspective could rival the Rose Bowl for lousy sightlines.

Oof. Totally disagree. Sat in GG at Neyland on Saturday afternoon and could barely see. Have never had a problem viewing the field at LP.

The stars are aligning...never thought we would see this. Say what you will, but this is a crazy-good piece of recruiting ammunition.

Conversely, this will truly be an awesome moment in American sports history. A potential 160,000 people to watch a collegiate football game? The idea is almost hard to fathom.

Hopefully we have a great team or it's the kickoff game...I'd hate to return tickets, or worse, be outrepresented.

Was watching "The Sports Center" tonite and the Bristol TN/VT news came across the bottom line ticker.

I was like...hmmm maybe this IS for real!?

Five times, three in the stands and twice in the pits. Each time with the idea that TN might play VT there at some point in the future and have considered what it would be like to watch a game there. No doubt you would be able to see what was occurring on the field in front of you well. It's not as small as traditional college stadiums, but that's the point.

This is no joke but it sounds crazy even as I type it.

A few years ago I went to a truck race at Bristol and sat about middle-ways up the track. During the race I am daydreaming and staring into the infield when all the sudden I see Eric Clapton walking around. I told everyone around me I just saw Eric Clapton down in the infield. Everyone thought I was hallucinating.

I get home and I watch the entire replay of the truck race because, surely, if Eric Clapton was in Bristol, TN, for a truck race, it should've been mentioned during the telecast.

Sure enough, they find and talk to Eric Clapton. He was there as a guest of one of the team owners or something. So, when everyone is asking "What will you be able to see from the stands at BMS?" The answer is "Eric Clapton." Thank you LASIK.

For everyone's consideration, this is a to-scale rendering of what a football field would look like in the Bristol infield. Apologies for the VT field, I didn't make this.

This. Awesome opportunity for recruiting as well. I couldn't even fathom the chance to play in front of 160,00. Doesn't even seem realistic.

I heard Franklin is on the trail promising ever elusive 2* recruits that they could possibly play in front of that many at one game.
LOL. Sorry couldn't resist.

Saw this on Twitter. Thought it was pretty telling.

That's Neyland Stadium INSIDE Bristol Motor Speedway.
