i'll say this. volnation is a pretty pathetic place for at least 24 hrs after a basketball loss. football is worse, but anyone over the age of 10 should have some perspective with the bball. i mean come on.

Because you ran your mouth on a UK message board when he signed here so it has to be his fault that he isn't as good yet as you told them he would be?
With fans like this, UT should scrap the program. This happens over and over. Clausen, Crompton, Prince, Pearl, Hopson, Woolridge. It is amazing any decent player would ever want to play for a team whos fans actually hate their players.
UT fans will get what the deserve, a team that goes to the NIT every 6 years. Congratulations.

Amen Brother, Lack of basketball Knowledge by our so called fans amazes me. When we lost Tyler Smith and 3 others the season is over. We beat Kansas and we're going to the final four. CBP greatest coache ever. We lose to Vandy we suck we won't make the tournament. We go on run and win 6 of 8 we are going to be a 3 seed. We lose to KY we suck we wont make the tourney. We beat SC, great win on the road CBP is great again. We play on the road at Florida, we had guys get in foul trouble down the stretch and we lose and now we are back to sucking and CBP is worse coach ever. Good grief how do most of you make it through the day? CBP has only taken us to a level no other coach has been at UT. Just another ho hum 20 win season and 5 straight tourney appearances. When we lost the four players and the season is over crowd was saying we would be lucky to win 15 games changed their minds again on what a great job CBP has done this year. I guess we should have kept Buzz. By the way S. Pearl is one of the best defenders on the team is he a scoring machiine no, but compared to Hopson, Woolridge, Williams, Tatum defensively he his clearly better. When beat KY this weekend I guess we will be going back to the final four.:banghead2:.. Go Vols..

There are fans who sway with the wind after a win or a loss. They are moronic and have little knowledge of the game.

But it is just as dumb when people say the only two options we have are BP or go back to Buzz/Wade.

To determine where your program is you need to compare where you were and where you stand in your conference. Well no coach in TN history has been to five straight NCAA tourney’s so one must compare Pearl to his predecessors hence the Buzz reference. I do believe we are the only SEC team to be in 5 straight NCAA tourneys. As a fan would I like to have beaten OSU and advanced further, as fan I hate losing, but this swaying back and forth between we suck and we’re great is ridiculous just enjoy the ride of the season. I have never been the one that said “who you gonna get” but Pearl is the man for the job and due to his success this would be a great job for another coach someday.

Go Vols. Win or Lose. People need to remember these are college kids and it's college basketball. Mistakes will be made and losses will occur. If you want to watch and cheer for "flawless" basketball, watch the NBA.

Basketball was played before Buzz was here at UT.

And as stated before, throw the past out during this argument. All that matters is now. All the resources are here. Who gives a rat's rectum about what Buzz or Wade done. Get the job done, now.

Because all you do when you bring up the past is to show you are paying a coach $2mil+ to do the same thing Jerry Green did.

I'll call liars what they are anywhere, anytime. You're nothing but a bunch of orange overall wearing fanboys to whom objectivity and the truth are foreign concepts. Nobody on this forum who has wanted to "discuss" things personally has ever been denied the opportunity.

The reason I called him a tough guy is because he calls posters liars and mouthbreathers, questions their intellect and is generally offensive, but I do' think he would have the sack to do it in person.

I don't post here much anymore, but I like to come back at times like these for a good laugh. It's hard to believe that you all are adults. Keep it up, though. I can't wait to see what you all come up with for football season.

I agree 100% with the original poster. I can't believe all of the hate I am seeing aimed at Bruce Pearl. The guys has done MORE than a phenomenal job this season! In fact, its down right amazing when you think about it. Not only did he lose his best player in Tyler Smith mid-season, but he also kept the program clean by kicking off guys like Duke Crews and Ramar Smith that would have been huge contributors to this team this year. In addition, he also lost Josh Tabb to start the season who was probably the best defender on the team. Then, he loses Emmanuelle Negedu to health conditions. Then, his top PG coming out of high school Daniel West is ruled inelligible and kicked off the team.

This also goes hand in hand with all the critics out there that don't like "thugs" on the team. Bruce Pearl is running a VERY clean program. And to have to go through what he has this season and still have 20 wins and ranked in the top 20 this late in the season is nothing short of A MIRACLE. If you think any other coach in the country could have accomplished this feat, please send me their resume!

This has been a rough season, but it has not been for lack of heart or effort. I love this team and will support them until the end of the season. At which point, I will turn my interest into the awesome recruiting class we have coming in and the potential for this team next year. GO VOLS!! It's GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL!
