Just booked a 7 day cruise on the Carnival Splendor, not the newest boat, but should be a lot of fun. Going to Nassau, Dominican, Turks, St. Thomas and somewhere else. Always open to any tips or suggestions about cruising. This will be my 3rd cruise, but my second since February.

We've done several cruises, decided to go with all inclusive this year. Been to all those at least once. A couple of ideas. At Grand Turk you can take a right off the pier to the tip of the island. This is called the conch graveyard. You can pick up nice conch shells right off the beach. Take a left off the pier and walk a few hundred yards, you'll find Jacks Shack. Nice out of the way place with a Jamaican cook grilling up seafood included grilled lobster. We prefer this to the crowded cruise port area but if you's prefer that there is a pool and Margaritaville.

At St Thomas consider the Trunks Bay excursion. One of the most beautiful spots in the Caribbean.

Also, https://www.cruisecritic.com/community/ is a great resource.

Enjoy!

Good on ya. What part of the Sierras? Hopefully up high where its cool.

Sunday I will be a few miles south of Wawona. Monday I will head farther south between Wawona and Kings canyon to meet some friends. Will be at 5400', so warm days and cool nights.

Thank you for the suggestions! I will look into those spots. My wife was doing some research last night and mentioned the Jacks Shack place as a popular spot. We've planned one excursion so far in the Dominican where we will be swimming in caves. It looks like a lot of fun and has a very high rating. We leave in a just over a month.

Ditto on the Jack's Shack. Best part of the cruise I went on.

Especially if anybody in your family is a dog lover. Their dog Topher hangs out there and digs in the sand all day.

Salute to the hill beat me on Jacks shack at Grand Turk. The second time there we rented a cabana at Margaritaville with air conditioning. Have a doorbell/pager button you press and the waiter/waitress is there in 30 seconds to take your food or drink order.

Chose the dual engine spin boat excursion at St Thomas and was alot of fun.

I know you didn't mention St maartin but went to a butterfly farm there that my wife loved. They have them at most island cruise stops as excursions.

That sounds great, I'll look into that as well. I went to St. Maarten a while ago and really enjoyed it. Thank you for responding. Did you go on Carnival or another cruise liner?

I was just in NC at the beach for a week w my wife's family and stopped at the Greenbrier for a few nights on the way home.

Beautiful resort but not for everyone. I liked being there w just my wife and relaxing/not doing a whole lot.

Princess cruises Emerald Princess. Ask my wife to marry me the first formal night at the champagne waterfall in front of 3000 people.
