going to Cozumel in July

You stopping there on a cruise ship or staying there? We've been to Cozumel twice on a cruise. Passed through Playa Del Carmen once and really enjoyed the town but didn't get much time there so we're flying into Cancun and spending a week in Playa.

Cozumel is my favorite Caribbean destination. Super laid back and you can rent a jeep for nothing and cruise around the island and find great beaches with no one around. Also Coconuts bar is probably the coolest bar in the world and has the greatest view ever.

Decided last night to head to Vegas for a few days. Sitting in Phoenix now waiting to take off. It's a steamy 107 here now and headed to 109 in Vegas.

109 degrees. Meh.

The wife and I are working on a list of 60 places that we have never been and we're supposed to complete the list by mid-September. So we drove up to Death Valley a few days ago. It was a refreshing 116 degrees at the visitor's center. Brrrrrrrr.

Then we drove up to the trail head for the hike to Mt Whitney. It was 71 degrees there. A little more hospitable.

I'll definitely look for that bar

Spent the weekend in Clearwater at Sand key. Beach, pool and the boys first round of mini golf. View from our room

Spending a couple of days in Sonoma County and Napa Valley about 45 minutes to 1:15 from my house, does that count as travel?

Best place to catch fireworks in the clearwater/st Pete area?

On the beach! Literally anywhere from Indian Rocks up to Clearwater. Everyone sets off their own. They make "luminaries" with sacks string and birthday candles and send them up. Pretty cool to see miles of fireworks going off just before and after sunset.

Be on the Reddington pier at sunset...25 miles of amazing will delight you. My next favorite spot is Pass-a-grille from the jetty at the end of the beach looking north. Several of the beach communities have their own shows that you can see from the pier looking north and south. Plus there are thousands and thousands of individual groups that bring some pretty good booms. Independence day fireworks on the Pinellas beaches are one of my favorite things in life.

When we were there last year they shut down the bridge coming into CW beach and shot them from there. You could see them going off everywhere though.
