Ya the arguments on the does usage is really tedious to read but the general consensus is that it is effective.Interestingly, studies on Zinc and vitamin supplements for the treatment of flu, Cv19, and other respiratory viruses are mixed, at best. (If we are doing peer-reviewed evidence.) Most are very safe, though.
That’s a very different thing isn’t it though. When medical professionals mask, even reps which is what I’m guessing you do, it’s a one and done. You wear it once and toss it. Even then it’s not 100% as a preventative measure. And we were told that it’s going to help to put kids in masks…..who trade them…..wear the same one for a month at a time…..wear them on their heads like hats…..and it’s not like the adults are any better. Leaving them on the rear view mirrors. Stuffing them in pockets.I work in surgery. It’s required. It’s not crazy. If you are on an OR table you want us in masks. It’s universal precautions. Standard of care. And I’m not shirtless. I’m in scrubs.
The red woman work in the cardiac cath lab (MRN) for over 20 years. The stories of blood and “stuff” flying around the room are a daily occurrence. I’m surprised we didn’t have trauma surgery people working in a hazmat suitYeah, nobody wants blood, bone dust, or juice from a bowel resection in their mouth.
It's a super-fun mental exercise to consider how much we accomplished by closing gyms, keeping kids and most of the workforce home and sitting on their asses all day, chaining up tennis courts, putting a gag over people's breathing holes, isolating them from social interaction, and inherently encouraging poor dietary habits and alcohol and drug abuse.@kiddiedoc
I think the most entertaining debate I read was “it’s not that the vitamin supplements work, it’s that people who are vitamin deficient are more likely to get sick”
Well that’s just earth shattering information. Unhealthy people are more likely to get sick. Who would have thought that?
The red woman and I regularly talk about that exact stupidityIt's a super-fun mental exercise to consider how much we accomplished by closing gyms, keeping kids and most of the workforce home and sitting on their asses all day, chaining up tennis courts, putting a gag over people's breathing holes, isolating them from social interaction, and inherently encouraging poor dietary habits and alcohol and drug abuse.
"For the greater good."
I had a moment of clarity when I ran over to the quickie-mart behind my office to grab a drink for lunch one day: they had all the plexiglass and safety signs up, cashier in full badge-of-honor face covering.... and behind her, 3 walls were stacked to the ceiling with ever kind of cigarette, dip, vape, gummy, cheap cigar, etc imaginable, all with nice promotion signs and sale prices. The lady in front of me was buying two 12-packs of ****** beer, chips, and snack cakes of some sort (along with cigarettes). The red woman and I regularly talk about that exact stupidity
Edit: gym and workout studios closed
Liquor store, open
Mine was when we shut everything down and I drove past an ace hardware and the place looked like a Black Friday sale was going on. Social distancing at its best.I had a moment of clarity when I ran over to the quickie-mart behind my office to grab a drink for lunch one day: they had all the plexiglass and safety signs up, cashier in full badge-of-honor face covering.... and behind her, 3 walls were stacked to the ceiling with ever kind of cigarette, dip, vape, gummy, cheap cigar, etc imaginable, all with nice promotion signs and sale prices. I thought: "We aren't going to make it, are we?"
I know you wish I’m fat and out of shape. But I’m not. Sorry. Keep working. You will get there. That’s a very different thing isn’t it though. Masking was the stupidest thing from the pandemic and may turn out to be the most medically harmful. Microscopic plastic infections are starting to become a problem and it’s a ticking time bomb for many people who have no idea they have a problem that may not surface for years as it festers deep in their lungs.
I’m sure everyone is grateful you keep your shirt on.
I’ve worked on both sides of the table.Yeah, nobody wants blood, bone dust, or juice from a bowel resection in their mouth.
Ya- wasn’t dogging you. Medical is the only people doing the masking correctly and it’s still not 100%. What hope did we have for the common moron.I know you wish I’m fat and out of shape. But I’m not. Sorry. Keep working. You will get there.
I mask because it’s required. Been that way for decades. When the PPE shortage occurred they asked us to reuse masks. I didn’t. I used a fresh one multiple times a day.
Slice I always liked you, but you continue to act very condesending after repeatedly being wrong....about absolutely everything. Keep playing the pompus card, but your choices and those you advocated endangered lives before and will again if you don't learn from them. Just now people are getting cancer that is ravaging them because of the side effects of the "vaxx"...... people who advocated the vaxx and used that very reason for supporting it are now victims of it. Let's be at least honest that you were all for the vaxx and made fun of those who were not willing to be guinea pigs. Likewise you have continued to mock Ivermectin...even while more and more it is showing to have been one of the most successful treatments. You didn’t actually read the study.
Lol
