Vaccine or not?

47 year old family friend is in the ER fighting for her life due to Covid complications. Pneumonia in both lungs and blood clots.

She has been fully vaccinated for months.
Yuck, sorry to hear. Prayers for miraculous healing.

I had reached the decision to get my kids vaccinated. That said, you're not supposed to get vaxxed if you have covid, recently had it, or exposed to someone with it.

So I haven't done it because I feel like we never leave those scenarios.

I do not ******* know...

I just know that it has ben rushed through the approval process. That by itself is enough for me to be concerned.

Well your knowledge on the subject appears limited. Coming from a background in medicine, I cannot think of a physiological way that this vaccine would somehow cause side effects years down the line. It does not work that way. Waiting years to confirm that no long term side effects occur is asinine when understanding how astronomically unlikely and unrealistic it would be for long term side effects to somehow occur, especially within the event or a pandemic.

God help your friend, NEO. I'm very sorry to read of her condition.

Hey it would probably help if you drop a link to the other mRNA vaccines which have already moved thru the normal FDA approvals process without the pressure of a pandemic to get them deployed. That vast amount of data should put people’s minds at ease. TIA!

There is a vaccine available that is not mRNA, J&J, using old school technology.

I’m sorry to hear that. Please keep us updated.

Yeah the J&J uses viral vector. mRNA is what allowed the other two to be synthesized so quickly literally a few weeks tp get into trials after the Chinese posted the genetic sequence of the virus. But… it’s also what had some concerned also. And I’m sure some just use that as an excuse also.

No data existed before April 2020. Because no vaccine existed.

Look I’m 57 I’m mostly dead anyway. But if I were 25 I’d be struggling with if I really would take it or not. Again we’ll all own our decisions
That is ye another thing ignored. @Orangeslice13 has his own motivations for getting jabbed (spouse w/comorbidities). Older people (60 and over) should probably roll the dice and take it because they are the biggest demographic with the most deaths and hospitalizations. For people like that, the benefits outweigh the risks.

But for anyone else, why the shaming tactics, the ridicule and the coercion? It is ridiculous. For all I know, I could be wrong as hell and there could turn out to be no major long term effects. I'm willing to live with taking that risk after looking at the data. But even more, the fascistic coercion tactics where the govt and corporations seem to be moving in a direction where they want to have control over what you put in your body, where you can or cannot go or whether you can buy, sell or trade is scary.

I never claimed to be a doctor or medical expert.

I need more time. Plus, it is a fundamental thing about funneling everyone down this single path and working towards mandating it at such a fast pace.

If the vaccines work as you think they do, then you shouldn't have to worry about the unvaccinated.

So the CDC doesn’t consider someone fully vaccinated until after the second dose. I believe Israel now doesn’t consider fully vaccinated until the 3rd dose. Food for thought here. We have been told that it’s now a pandemic of the unvaccinated. Well I wonder how many people are included in that that have had the jabs yet are waiting the full two weeks?

Of course I am sure when the booster comes out the CDC will move its goal posts again to say you are not fully vaccinated until all 3 shots are taken.

Freedom of choice Does not free you from the consequences. It kinda surprises me that the guys who usually beat the drum about liberty are now opposed to the concept

You worry because of the spread and break through infections.

I worry about people who receive misinformation into thinking that a perfectly safe vaccine that can potentially save their life is something they should avoid.

Except you clowns are clogging up hospitals and draining resources that would ordinarily be available for other diseases or injury's.

The mental gymnastics you keep going through to disregard this point must be exhausting.

Explain, please.
You’re free to choose. A private practice is free to fire you for not taking their advice. If you violate rules put in place by a private hospital then A private hospital is free to kick you down the street to the public place where you can wait in line.

It’s not a difficult concept

I believe you have the right to choose.
I believe they have the same rights.
