Vaccine or not?

I’m pretty pro-vaccine but agree that some people on the pro-vaccine argument are pushing vaccines as the only way to combat covid. Vaccines are the best way to get out of this current pandemic but we should be pursuing multiple avenues to combat this disease especially if there is going to be people who will remain unvaccinated in addition to a large subgroup of our population that are elderly and immunocompromised who won’t get good immunity with vaccines. Not a big fan of gov desantis but he seems to be the only government official spotlighting monoclonal antibody therapy.
Abbott is following DeSantis’s lead here in Texas and that’s a good thing. I’d like to see the other 48 states quickly follow suit. I’m beyond sick and tired of just beating people up to comply we have the resources to produce Regeneron en masse so have it ready and use it as the doctors feel it’s needed for their patients.

Correct. But once infected they have the same viral load and just a likely to spread the virus....thats why i posted this...bottom line...the vax may lower the infection rate..(hard to tell since infection rate is not tracked as much or at all) and it does seem to make symptoms less..which is good, especially for the high risk....but you will as till spread it at the same rate...so 1 could actually argue that getting the vax doesn't help anyone but the person that got the vax...given only 10% of the population has been infected with covid..
Damnit man, you've got it figured out!

That was clear. But still there are significant numbers of vaccinated transmitting the virus now too. Again if your body reacted to the vaccine correctly I’d guess the bigger benefit is you have the antibodies on stand by.

I’d like to see us ease up the tone on hammering the vaccine and spool up production and availability of the MAb treatments. We already know that we’re gonna see vaccinated and unvaccinated contract the disease so let’s make sure we have the therapeutics on hand to address that 🤷‍♂️

That would be too much like common sense, though. How would we ever get that to work?

The masses that think differently. Someone needs a refresher on the founders' intentions
Ya, not sure about the founders or how they fit into this. My opinion is simply that whenever someone says “they” it’s usually an over generalization for people who have a different opinion than the person using “they”. The political leanings or side of the argument is irrelevant.
Although sometimes when you believe they’re out to get you they might be really out to get you.

Simply being atypical is not an argument. How exactly will the vaccine cause side effects? I cannot speak for your personal knowledge of the physiological process of how vaccines or medication operate within our bodies, but I would hope that you are basing your “concern” off actual scientific theories on how side effects can somehow manifest years later, rather than conspiratorial generalizations on how “it was rushed”.
I do not ******* know...

I just know that it has ben rushed through the approval process. That by itself is enough for me to be concerned.

Hey it would probably help if you drop a link to the other mRNA vaccines which have already moved thru the normal FDA approvals process without the pressure of a pandemic to get them deployed. That vast amount of data should put people’s minds at ease. TIA!

If a person would be willing to take regeneron after getting sick why on earth wouldn't they just go ahead and take the vax? You don't really have to answer that. All you have to do look around and see who isn't being vaccinated.

Simple. Monoclonal antibody treatments have been FDA approved since the 80’s while mRNA was only discovered in the mid 90’s and none have been approved by the FDA until last week. And it took a worldwide pandemic to force that. And thanks for the setup.

What kind of crazy world is this? The big bad communist is more pro freedom than many in this country.
Of course Putin realizes Russia has as many stupid people as we do. And btw you are as free as any Russian to take a pass on vaccination.

The monoclonal antibody treatment for covid is only approved for emergency use. Or under emergency authorization or whatever they call it.

Correct. However monoclonal antibody treatments have been around since the 80’s with FDA approval. There is a long track record of how the treatments perform. Prior to last week there were a sum total of ZERO mRNA vaccines with FDA approval and there still is ZERO long term history.

A little skepticism is understandable.

There is a pretty good indication now that the vaccines are safe. The skepticism should be waining.
I'm from Tennessee and live in Alabama. Two of the least vaccinated states. I've heard many people including two sisters who aren't vaccinated because they say they don't trust the vaccines. To quote one sister: "there ain't no telling what's in that shot and what it may do to you." She has the right to be skeptical but she is dumb as **** as far as I'm concerned. I suppose she has that right also though.
