Vaccine or not?

Key point #3 from the article…
  • While delta is more contagious than previous variants, causing a surge in pediatric hospitalizations, so far it doesn’t appear to cause more severe disease in children.

This fits with everything I have read as well as anecdotal evidence I’ve seen.

The uptick in pediatric hospitalization is a reflection of the number of kids catching it because of how contagious it is. I know it is enough to cause some strain on certain hospital systems and staff, but that seems to vary by location.

Dear God, did you even read the article?

303 admissions/day in the entire U.S.??? Do you have any idea how many hospital beds we have? A single larger children's hospital could house every one of them. I've already told you that nearly every one of them goes home in 24-48 hours with nothing but simple observation. We are at 1.6 admits per day, right now, in our local referral Peds hospital. We've probably seen 100 cases in our office in the past month, including several infants, not one single admission.

I get it, you are scared and have bought in to the media hype. I hate that for you. I hate that for any parent that lies awake late at night worrying about their children.

I do this every day for a living, I love my job, I love my patients, and I love my own kids. When I tell you there is a long list of things I fear for them before CV19, I'm 100% sincere.

Sit with that for a minute tonight.

I have taken the covid vaccine believe it or not.
Good for you, just like when I lived overseas, I had to take 6 vaccines up each arm, Cholera, diphtheria, typhoid, yellow fever and several others, do you
think that I would have said, well never mind.....uh no

It is insane. Watching some of the parents at the school board meeting tonight, the biggest threat to many kids are the hyper anxious parents they witness on a daily basis.

Really??

From the CDC…
“The case fatality ratio for paralytic polio is generally 2% to 5% among children and up to 15% to 30% among adolescents and adults. It increases to 25% to 75% with bulbar involvement.”
This is exactly the type of nonsense thinking that drives the frenzy. By the numbers, CONSERVATIVELY SPEAKING, polio was over 1000X more deadly than CV19 in children. In adolescents and young adults, add a zero.

In 1952, over 3,000 of the 60,000 children diagnosed with polio in the U.S. died. At least that many were permanently paralyzed.

In other words, at the current rate of infection, if CV19 was as lethal as polio, we would currently be sitting around 1,500,000 pediatric deaths in the U.S.

The actual number? Just over 300.

Entire family had Covid 2 weeks ago. I’m 39 unvaccinated, my wife Is 37 vaccinated, kids are 1,2&5 .

I had a fever and chills for days 1-4
Days 5-11 loss of taste smell and tightness in chest, panic attacks and could barely walk across the room. Days 5-11 felt completely unnatural and at this point I was wishing I would have gotten vaccinated. Oxygen levels never dropped below 96% for me or anyone in the family. I felt as if I could feel the virus entering and exit my body. Like I said it felt like something man made and unnatural .

My wife (j&j vaccination) had mostly the same symptoms. She seemed to get better quicker.

My kids each had a fever (2 year old had a fever for 4 days) for a couple days and were noticeably lethargic for a couple days, but normal other then that .

It’s nothing I ever want to experience again but not sure I will get the vaccination just yet either

Awful to hear. What were your Vitamin D and Zinc levels prior to contraction? Also, what was your treatment as far as medication. Glad you're on the rebound,
