Vaccine or not?

More fun stats for kids:

The chance of dying in a fire or from diarrhea is about the same as the chance of dying from CV19.

Kids are three times as likely to die from drowning. . .

SIX times more likely to die in a MVA.

It would follow that banning swimming, riding in cars, and eating sushi should be a hot topic tomorrow. Maybe the AAP will make a policy statement.

You mean, the disease that was defeated after a vaccine that took over 2 years to develop and wasn't eradicated until 1979 even though there was a vaccine in 1798? That smallpox or another one?

Yup. And wonder why parents might line up to get a vaccine for a disease with a case fatality rate of 30% in kids but might think twice if the CFR was 0.01%.

Entire family had Covid 2 weeks ago. I’m 39 unvaccinated, my wife Is 37 vaccinated, kids are 1,2&5 .

I had a fever and chills for days 1-4
Days 5-11 loss of taste smell and tightness in chest, panic attacks and could barely walk across the room. Days 5-11 felt completely unnatural and at this point I was wishing I would have gotten vaccinated. Oxygen levels never dropped below 96% for me or anyone in the family. I felt as if I could feel the virus entering and exit my body. Like I said it felt like something man man and unnatural .

My wife (j&j vaccination) had mostly the same symptoms. She seemed to get better quicker.

My kids each had a fever (2 year old had a fever for 4 days) for a couple days and were noticeably lethargic for a couple days, but normal other then that .

It’s nothing I ever want to experience again but not sure I will get the vaccination just get either
That sucks. I think anxiety/isolation caused my worst symptoms. My sats were good (like yours), and I forced myself to run or workout daily after the third day, so I knew my lungs were fine.

The headache and lethargy were real though. Of course, I was also staying up until mid morning watching TV and playing XBox, so that may have contributed.

So, what are you saying specifically regarding the COVID vaccine? How effective is it from preventing contraction, spread, and death?

My kid loves my chili. No more chili night? Is that your professional recommendation?

I linked a NEJM article earlier regarding illness and death with the Pfizer vaccine related to Delta. Unfortunately because of the changes in testing and reporting in May, data regarding cases and transmission has been made unreliable in my opinion. And I posted earlier who I thought should look to get vaccinated.

So, you don't know. I already knew that, but thanks for the clarification.

Staying a home was awful. That’s where most of my anxiety came from.
I’m usually only sick for a day or two tops. Have nothing to do but look up Covid crap in the internet definitely sent my nerves over the edge. I played my sons Nintendo switch and that helped keep my Mind off things

My blood pressure was high, which was a first for me . I could feel, hear and see my pulse bulging from my neck 😂 I’ve never had an issue w blood pressure (6’ 3 190#) it’s back down to normal now .
The doctors said my heart and lungs sounded great. I feel mostly normal again now

Take your pick, a vaccine or a ventilator

I picked living and got Covid and along with almost everybody I know. It’s unfortunate some people have died and hopefully those who feel at risk get vaccinated and/or take all the precautions they feel they need to in order to stay safe. Those people need to worry about themselves and stfu about everyone else.

Ouch you are bad at following conversations. And for the record it's evident you are way too off the reservation to engage in serious conversation with. I wish you and those you love well.

I'm good. Thanks for the concern. What would you like to debate? Please, by all means, bring it.
