Honestly I think the issue with what you pushing is you’re ignoring the whole picture. Some companies are stating they prefer no mandates but Biden forced their hand. Now they could be lying but that’s what their saying. So companies are being told what to do regardless of whether you side with Biden or the GOP governors. I’ll chose to side with the ones that protect the citizens choice and restores the status quo before Biden’s stupid ass action.

I’m actually in the opposite camp. As each day passes I can’t wait till I can just give the company and DoD the finger and ride off into the sunset. I won’t say their isn’t enough money to get me to come back but I don’t think I’m worth the money and conditions it would take to get me to come back part time.

I retired almost 4 years ago and there hasn't been a month go by that they haven't asked me to come back. I used to love my company and worked there for 35 years, but towards the end they sucked and screwed me over. My one bit of retribution is to never help them again and I'm living up to that promise.

I’m not far from where you are. They haven’t screwed me over directly but they’ve had a very heavy handed response to the end of the world over the last 18 months. I told a peer just yesterday I don’t hate it and I’m not a victim by a long shot but I really don’t want to work for them anymore.

If your thing now is personal sovereignty, where were you on gay marriage? Decriminalization of drugs? The draft? Speed limits? Where the F is the outrage on those?

I argued what constitutes force in the context of comparing that to imprisoning addicts. That's not supporting government vaccine mandates.

How does drug use directly affect people other than the user? It may potentially indirectly affect others; however, so does not getting the covid vaccine. Hence the comparison.

I think I understand what you’re saying, but I don’t think I said what I meant very well.

I don’t see a practical difference between saying it is unconstitutional and saying it should be unconstitutional, without more. They both just seem to be attempts to prop up an opinion about the prudence of this particular mandate.

There’s nothing wrong with just having an opinion that this mandate is imprudent. The problem is when people start saying that similar mandates or restrictions are prudent and can’t reconcile the inconsistency in a way that makes sense.

With regard to the Abbott EO, both Southwest and American Airlines have stated at least for now it changes nothing as they are federal contractors. Not a peep from my company yet except they indicated in prior communications they would respect state and local laws in which the Montana example was explicitly offered where they will require testing to enter company facilities.

Universal testing makes sense to me. Actually about safety, doesnt play politics, doesnt make assumptions.

And if testing were made an alternative then you have reasonable accommodation. My asshat company has mandated get the jab or you’re fired. There are accommodations for medical or religious exemptions but it’s unknown how those will be adjudicated at this time. If you exempt then you have to test weekly. No accommodation is allowed for “I just don’t want the jab but I’ll do testing”. They are claiming the idiot in chief’s EO calls for this. It absolutely does no such thing it allows for weekly testing.

Oh and I can’t wait to see what happens if a single religious exemption is denied
