Vaccine or not?

What does this have to do with the topic at hand? VAERS encourages people to report potential adverse reactions even if they're not sure a vaccine caused it, which makes it pretty likely for non-vaccine-related reactions to be reported, especially with all the attention the topic gets.

You originally said the VAERS system reporting has errors and I simply pointed out that the Covid case numbers contain errors from false positive PCR testing, so both systems are inaccurate.

I just looked at VAERS website and a few on the front page were reports of known side effects. Apparently feeling chills, having a headache and feeling tired after the second dose was a surprise to some people. How many people have reported that would be telling. American's are idiots so it's likely.

I have twin 17 year old boys who are knee deep in sports, none of their friends have suffered adverse reactions - so we have that going for us as far as anecdotes go, which is nice.

Help Keep Children Healthy: Get School Immunizations Now

Did you feel this way when you and your kids were required to get the following immunization - or is the vaccine that has proven to be safe and effective for the global pandemic the one where your liberty is suddenly trampled?

Don’t use a current list and try to pass it off as shots we and our kids were required to get. Let’s be honest here. These are the actual lists of what most of us on this board and our kids got for vaccines as children to attend public school.

I actually already stated earlier that on a percentage basis I think it’s pretty low too. I think questioning the reliability of the VAERS data base is a red herring.

Why is that a red herring? It's directly relevant to the question of vaccine safety when VAERS data is used to support some position.

Do you have a threshold on the amount of BS you'll accept for believing wikipedia? Because the same formula - 99.9% should be the minimum standard for believing a unfiltered database used for medical reasons.
Lol. I’ll read Wikipedia. I might even reference it. However I’ll also state it’s Wikipedia and buyer beware.

I’ll defer to your expert medical opinion on the allowable threshold. 😂

Now that we’re beyond that did your motor come in stock? BOE Marine has stock on mine again and I’m gonna pull the trigger in early November at the latest.

You originally said the VAERS system reporting has errors and I simply pointed out that the Covid case numbers contain errors from false positive PCR testing, so both systems are inaccurate.

So you switched topics to covid testing errors, which I never defended in the first place?

In their day, the delivery method was probably just as revolutionary.

There's nothing new about mRNA tech.
Until it wasn’t revolutionary anymore and common place for all the vaccines you had listed as applicable to me and mine.

Now. Important stuff. Trolling motor!

As kiddiedoc as already stated never before has VAERS reliability been questioned. Now due to some very low case numbers by some asshats and perhaps some overly concerned individuals we no longer trust the body of data? Nah…

Also I won’t make a decision on VAERS but that would be my something I would ask my doctor about if I were concerned. I’d guess he doesn’t make decisions on VAERS data either however 🤷‍♂️

I think the issue is the conclusions that are being reached based on the body of data. Even if you agree that all the reports are legitimate, which there's no reason to think they are, you still need to interpret the data in context to make an informed decision. Parading out raw unverified data to support a conclusion is not exactly a rigorous scientific process.

I don’t agree that all the VAERS reports are legitimate. I think we’ve seen some examples that show they aren’t. However based on the sheer size of the database I want to see hard data that shows the demonstrable results have been skewed in a meaningful fashion by the reports of penises growing 10 times their normal size. That’s it.

Still no long term safety data on Corminaty(it’s not available for use anyway).
Comparing this vaccine to others like we see a lot of times is like comparing a goat and a horse.

I don't think either of us believe the results have been meaningfully skewed by penis reports. But perhaps people reporting headaches, fevers, injection site soreness, or other typical symptoms people experience after getting the vaccine have diluted the data. Either way, assuming the data is good to go without "demonstrable results" to the contrary is shifting the burden of proof and not how science works. The reports people (especially non medical professionals) make need to be investigated to determine whether there is a legitimate tie to the vaccine before it can be used as an argument against the vaccine.

The only way to do that is that everybody would have to test everyday unless they would just stay at home and nobody is going to get
tested everyday and people have to work, so that would not work
Wouldnt need to be everyday. The south koreans were testing once a week with their tracking program.

Assign everyone a test day, you get tested that one day. If anyone around you tests positive on their day, you get isolated till your next test.

We already had a nationwide system of mass testing sites set up that never got overwhelmed during their peak, so it's not farfetched.

And your entire argument proves my point that it's never about the actual safety of people, but rather compliance.

Best part of it is that it's fair. If you are sick, guilty of Covid, you get "punished". If you arent, you get to maintain the freedoms guarenteed to Americans. You are resisting this method because you enjoy the new found class system and having a new found moral high horse to ride around on. Look at me, I comply; dont ask me to test that's too much work.

Yes, actually.

I can't imagine there are significant numbers feeling the need to skew the numbers of other vaccines or medications.

Perhaps you haven't noticed, the covid vaccine is a fractious issue. I'll digress when there's a thread about the TDAP and MMR immunizations.
What percentage of the VAERs reports are bs? According to the existing Covid logic, if 1.6% of deaths, and or 5.8% of hospitalizations on VAERs are true we should treat it very seriously.

We both agree that the federal government does not have the right to impose such mandates. If a mandate is to be issued, that should be done under directives from state and local leadership.

Now, having said that, Sheriff Tom Spangler is not accounting for the possibility that refusing to take a vaccination might also put the lives of Knox County citizens in immediate danger.

I see a lot of posts that make individual freedom the issue. No such freedom extends to decisions which could adversely effect the health of other people. The President may not have the power to issue vaccination mandates .... but governors do.
