I don't have small kids but I'd like to hear from those of you who do as to whether you'll give them the Pfizer vaccine. This comment from the FDA advisory panel did NOT sound reassuring:

"We're never going to learn how safe it is until we start giving it," said committee member Dr. Eric Rubin, editor-in-chief of the New England Journal of Medicine and an immunologist at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. "We're worried about a side effect that we can't measure yet, but it's probably real."

You have a right to a job. You don't have a right to any specific job.

And just going back a bit, your driving argument is incorrect. Use of the public roads is a right while driving a motor vehicle on those roads is a privilege. The most frequently cited case in Tennessee is Sullins v Butler.

You have a right to a job? Can you expand on the basis of that statement a bit? I’m not challenging it as correct I would just like the statement expanded please.

The better way to put it might be that you have the right to gainful employment, or the government can't say that you're not allowed to earn a lawful living.

Ok I was guessing that was where you were headed. Yes I agree with you. The government has no power to rightfully force poverty upon you and prevent you from providing for your family. Thank you.

I think we all try to tend towards brevity here. Or should. And you’re normally pretty well based in the points you make so I thought I knew where you were going.

I’ve got my own vague brevity statement going on “If it can be taken from you then it isn’t a right”. The obvious reply is to reference alienable vs inalienable rights. To wit my reply is I don’t believe in alienable rights they are instead privileges. Personally I think the alienable right construct is just a means to leverage dilution and ultimately power of revocation over actual rights. That’s a more deep topic which we could fill pages with however so I shorten it to the statement I’ve used.

Still no long term safety data.

What if you cardiologist said that he has this new heart valve that we can offer you. There is a side effect that we are worried about but we can’t measure it yet but it’s probably real.

I can’t believe how this virus has made people regress intellectually to the point that they will vaccinate their children without knowing the long term effects.

I'm not sure what you mean by "can be taken." The gov't can both change the bill of rights or violate what you perceive as an inalienable right that you have. Again, not sure what the functional difference is between that and a privilege when the entity that holds all the power can decide to change or not protect "rights" or "privileges" that you have.

Also, I'd like to note the irony of a [presumably] grown man calling people with a different opinion a clown anonymously on the internet.
