Vaccine or not?

"Yes, at this time all air passengers, 2 years or older, traveling to the US, regardless of vaccination or antibody status, are required to provide a negative COVID-19 viral test result or documentation of recovery unless exempted."

Wife and I are headed to Peru in December. To return to the US, this is the testing requirement. The vaccine must be working real well.

This at least makes sense. Everybody tested. That's scientific, that's about safety, no politics, no bs.

Gotta love dim logic. Force 100+ stadium workers to get a vaccine to cater to tens of thousands of potentially unvaccinated fans. “Safety”.

I, for one, have not really heard of a vaccine that doesn't stop infection or spread of the illness it's designed against so poorly that it still requires testing for the illness.

To me this is the government admitting it is mandating a **** product.

Where are you going in Peru. I went there several years ago and went on an Amazon river excursion. I loved the place and people.

Largely in Lima, where my wife's family is from. We haven't been in about 4 years.

We may do a little trip out to Arequipa or the jungle. Haven't decided yet- if this mandate garbage holds and I lose my job we may stay down there a while.

Lima is where I flew into and spent 4 or 5 nights altogether. It was a very pleasant experience and I felt safe there. They are big on beef and peppers in Lima and the jungle it was fish. I love Peru and hopefully some day I go back.

I've been to the "rough" parts of Lima regularly and had zero issues. I'd say it's very safe for a big city. I'm really excited, we haven't seen her family for so long and I really like them all.

I wonder why it is that the areas with less restrictive handling of this pandemic are performing so much better in terms of deaths and hospitalizations?

You and your co-workers spent many years getting educated/trained for your craft. Where are you going?
Several will retire, I’ll go to a private hospital or into private home care. I can take care of ventilated patients at home, I’m qualified.
