Vaccine or not?

All these many countless pages of bickering and yet very little of the why and how. Focus on asking your fellow countryman to wear a mask, take a jab, social distance, avoid seeing your elderly parents and family, not go to work, show a vax card, destroy your liberties with a whim, etc.

And yet not any why and how. Should be a common totally supported interest by all ideologies.

I've actually tried to focus on the "why and how" since late Spring 2020. COVID Zero policies have been a pipedream all along. Now, here we are two years in, running around our little hamster wheel of shutdowns, cancellations, boosters, travel restrictions, mask mandates, and new variants, yet "cases" are breaking records in the most restrictive states and countries. Kids and young/healthy adults remain almost completely unaffected. Zero problem in athletes worldwide after 2 years.

I don't know if it is 100%.... but there is a definite component. Mad4Vax is one for sure. He even wishes... celebrates deaths.
Never thought of you as a liar before. I guess if someone pushes you in a corner like this poster, this is your go to approach.
I have pointed out antivaxers that have a large platform, wont deny that, how much blood is on their hands, they deserve to be called out. Have I ever wished for it, never. You have a sick mind, do better please.

On the flip side, heaven forbid people talk about their reactions to the vaccine on a thread about the vaccine.

I wouldn't go that far. I acknowledge a young healthy athlete isn't going to be as likely to have issues, but "zero problems in athletes worldwide" may be going a little overboard. People respect what you say more than the rest of us because of your credentials so don't get too hyperbolic.

Yet labs are still running with no addressing the why and how's.
I always thought this was not insidious enough to cause mass hysteria, but just enough to get the focus and its desired affect. You cannot develop something insidious enough to kill your subjects in mass.Consider it Bio Light warfare.

Whether my statements are true or not, somebody is taking advantage.

I had lunch today with an ex Marine in his mid 50's. Perfectly healthy and never sick but almost died 3 months ago with COVID pneumonia and said he personally knew 6 people that have passed from it. In hospital for 8 days but never tubed but treated with the therapeutics and said he was beyond thinking about family and such but making his peace. Said he Never got sick in his life and his wife got very sick with no hosipitalization, his daughter tested positive and no issues at all. I told him the statical calculations of knowing 6 people who died were pretty astronomical. His story was quite remarkable and just goes too the randomness of all this.

I think that is what frustrates me and most of us the most.

If we had serious science and serious research going on, there would be some studies in possible genetic or ethnic ties to the severity of the virus. But that might get political and open an entire new can of worms...

Fair enough. A couple of guys fell out of shape (as did most of us who caught it and holed up for two weeks), and there is the one case of myocarditis (which I did know about). To my knowledge, no deaths, and several of those anecdotal stories could be explained by confounding factors.

It is very random and i think we are still early in our understanding of it. I understand that you are less likely to have a serious adverse reaction if you are young, healthy, etc. However, I feel it is disingenuous to pretend that if you are young, healthy, etc, it is something you should ignore or pretend like it is the common cold or the flu. There are some weird things this virus does and being in good shape is not a silver bullet. That's not me saying "mandate vaccines," that's me saying, "don't pretend like it's a common cold."

How do “anti-vaxers” have blood on their hands when the vaccinated are spreading it right and left as well? Lord Fauci is on record of saying that vaccinated individuals carry as much or more of a viral load in their nasal cavity than unvaccinated. If we’re both shedding virus but you’re shedding more than me, who has the potential to infect others more easily? At this point it can’t be denied, unless you blatantly lie to yourself, that it’s a therapeutic/symptom mitigator/severe illness preventer for the individual infected only and has little bearing on the transmission. The blood on their hands would be their own if they die.

I’m a Republican who voted for Trump and I disagree with what you are saying.
You disagree that we don’t all blindly follow a politician just because he’s a member of the same political party? Trump’s opinion on a particular topic has no bearing on my opinion of said topic and my support of him in an election doesn’t mean I’m going to unapologetically do whatever he asks of me.

This guy was probably in pretty good shape for a 41 year old. I'm not a Broadway guy, but you have to admit it does take some serious endurance and what not. Probably similar to certain types of athletics. Might he have had some genetic predisposition? I don't know.
Nick Cordero, Broadway actor who battled COVID-19, has died at age 41, wife says

Edit:my bad... wife was a "dancer." The guy was a Broadway "actor"
