Vaccine or not?

Good for you. Like I said if you're this upset, you should probably be more concerned about your own comments and actions than mine.

Edit: In an effort to be less antagonistic, I've deleted a portion of my post that may have been unduly harsh.
I'm not upset at all. I enjoy calling out people who now delete evidence and maliciously try to make people feel bad for their own failings. I'm not afraid of mine. You, clearly, are afraid of yours.

Either you were aiming to make me feel bad about myself or you are egotistical enough to think you need to teach people lessons on message boards. Either one is a losing proposition.

Or I just think you're a hypocrite.

You're not helping everyone by trying to shame people into getting a vaccine. You're just trying to force your "morals" and beliefs on other people.

What "morals" am I forcing on anyone? That you care about your neighbors, friends and family? What beliefs have I expressed in this thread? All I said was that not getting the vaccine, "in my opinion" is selfish. I think that's a factual statement.

That's fine, I never said I wasn't. And again, the post you quoted says as much. You failed to acknowledge it and are trying to call me out from whatever holier-than-thou position you think you have. Good for you, seeking validation for yourself on the Internet.

Get my second shot March 17th. This is a no-brainer, in my opinion not getting it is selfish. It's not just about whether one person gets it, it's about spreading the virus as well. Possibly endangering other people. I got the Pfizer vaccine and had absolutely no side affects.

Father-in-law of a niece died from Covid 19. He was fit, strong and retired Navy. Almost killed his wife as well, she's doing better.
Let's ask Marvin Hagler.

Aren't you the one who got into an argument about vaccines with a random internet guy and then violated what you claim is a fundamental principle in order to make a point?

One costs literally nothing and the other we don’t yet know the costs. Agreed?
I’m not sure I follow.

There’s little to be afraid of in vaccine development, they’ve gotten pretty good at it. I have always thought the anti-vacers are.......kinda silly. Even so I think you have the right to be silly if you want. I also don’t think you should have to wear a helmet or a seatbelt if you don’t want to. However the water and the **** the government puts in it are a different issue and there’s no getting around it.
Ultimately this will eventually just be the common cold.

Edit: get it, don’t whatever.

He said the chances of becoming seriously ill or dying without the vaccine is higher than with it ... hundreds of millions of people will prove that out to be false right now . Now I guess if we were to qualify that and say with certain age groups or comorbidities I’d go along with the premise .

This is one time I'm not sure how to answer. Part I'm not quite sure of the arguments each of you is making, and part because I'm all over the place with my own opinion. I've found myself siding with people I generally disagree with, and arguing against those I normally agree with. Maybe it's age in this case or personal experience or both. This is a time I just go back to those words in the Constitution "for the common good" and set aside my own political view. I personally think taking the vaccine is the thing to do - for me personally and for all of us as a whole. I understand and support opposing views on whether the vaccine is adequately proven both safe and effective - for me it is. I understand and agree that the individual should have the choice about what medicines and courses of action to take, but in this case I really believe we should all go along with the vaccines - but I don't agree with forcing it on people. As far as saying unvaccinated people may not do this or that, I don't know, but I almost always side against anti-vaxxers.

Maybe part is that I grew up before a polio vaccine. We didn't shut down like for covid, but even as young as I was I understood there was a threat. I get the thought that covid is no big deal, but for a lot of people it was. My wife had it the first of August, her sense of taste and smell still are no where near normal. I took care of her (with precautions), and I didn't get it - maybe it was precautions, maybe I had it and was completely asymptomatic, maybe I have some kind of immunity - I'll go with precautions and luck. My sister and brother in law had it and were largely asymptomatic - my BIL though it was sinus when went for testing just to be sure (he has some taste issues); both tested positive. From that the odds of severe reaction seem small, but my wife felt really bad, and I certainly wouldn't want to go through life with distorted senses and not knowing whether they will or won't return to normal.

One point I'll agree on with those who are siding against the vaccine is that nobody has sold it adequately. Communication has been abysmal. Government agencies were basically worthless when it came to managing the jobs they were tasked with. I can't blame anyone for taking any position. Those who present numbers generally fail to adequately show what the data really mean.

Hundreds of millions of people have gotten seriously ill and/or died from taking the covid vaccine? Link please.
