It’s rare. In the event that they do they go and receive antiviral treatment.I'm sure you're not saying that surgeons and their teams never get nicked during a procedure, even when they're operating on an HIV positive patient. So always a big deal.
No, they shouldn’t be forced to do the transplant. It just goes to show it’s not about the science.
Yes, they reject all covid positive. Then again if we are calling lifenet about immanent death, the organs are probably not donatable due to damage from treatment. If someone is on 3 pressors to elevate BP, they will reject them. Are you saying that an organ donor is rejected for being covid positive? Those people need to be arrested and thrown in jail if that is true.
Covid is airborne not bloodbourne. That’s why they swab your nares. They are usually ventilated with a closed circuit in surgery. There are no documented cases of covid spread via blood…FYI.Does anyone even remotely think about the surgical team? Don't be stupid and point out they have masks, it would be inadvertent exposure to bodily fluids, like surgeon nicking the hand of an assistant.
So someone is supposed to risk that, instead of him taking a vaccine? You guys sure are cavalier with risks to other people.
I just think the general public has no clue about actual medical practice… period. I encounter people everyday at work and spend a great deal of time explaining what actually happens vs what they have read or seen on tv.He has consumed too much MSNBC. I am willing to bet he is a double masker and double booster.
I agree. But the most shocking thing to me about all this was the amount of folks in healthcare that completely abandoned how we historically deal with a virus. Folks were terrified that should know better.I just think the general public has no clue about actual medical practice… period. Ps. we are also required to call on every pt who has a Glasgow Coma scale below 5 with no sedation, compassionate extubation has been mentioned or brain death testing is scheduled without exception. It doesn’t matter whether they are a noted donor or not. We are still required to make the call. The organ procurement agency is the one to talk to the family. I have only ever had one family tell me they didn’t want them contacting them without donation ever being mentioned. Are you saying that an organ donor is rejected for being covid positive? I watched it in real time, complete logic fails. Fear took over. I can’t say I’m surprised though.I agree. Sad but interesting story. There is an older couple in our neighborhood that invites us and another couple to dinner in the summertime. They own a really nice smoker and the man, Bobby loved to BBQ and invite us over to eat. We would bring food and we would always play cards and have fun. This would happen at least once a week in the summertime for the past 6 years. Now that’s over. Because unfortunately Bobby passed away.
Bobby was a very healthy 76 year old man. When I say healthy, I mean he had no major health issues. He took no medicine. Ate great slept great. He and his wife worked out 3 times a week. He hadn’t been in the hospital since he broke his leg in his 40s. His wife convinced him to get the vaccine. So they both got it. Two weeks after the booster, Bobby was in ICU, with late stage renal failure, massive inflammation in his body, vasculitis, and was on a ventilator. Test after test after test and doctors couldn’t figure out what the cause for Al of this. His wife asked me to call my best friend, who is an infectious disease specialist. I did and he came up to see Bobby. After consulting with Bobby’s doctors my friend asked them if he was vaccinated. They said he was and had his first booster. My best friend told them that’s what’s causing the problems. He said he is seeing more and more vaccinated people having serious problems not too long after getting the shots. Unfortunately Bobby didn’t make it.
I lost respect for a few clinicians that should know better. One tried to vaccine shame me. It was a tough conversation. But I made my points.
Apparently not much when it comes to choosing an attractive yet suitable spouse for a long term relationship… which has absolutely no bearing on the discussion at hand and was an idiotic appeal to authorityNot on the primary market. Maybe on the black market. Cause of death is heavily scrutinized in determining suitability of organs for transplant, at least according to my neighbor, the nephrologist. But he's on his 2nd trophy wife, 3rd in all, so what does he know.

So there's a man in Ohio who has a 9 year old son who has been a patient with Cleveland Clinic (one of the best hospitals in the country and importantly for this post, it is a privately owned hospital) since birth due to multiple issues. Kid has had a really tough life and now has only 20% function of his one kidney.
Seems his father is a perfect match but won't get the vax. He posts all over Facebook and Twitter about being anti-vax as is his wife. Cleveland Clinic says no vax, no transplant here.
If one of my kids was going to be run over I would gladly take the hit instead, as probably 99% of the people posting here, liberal or conservative, would do. Much less get a shot. If it meant my child's life, I'd take a lethal injection. This guy evidently doesn't feel that way. Maybe he thinks his life is more important than that of his son. In my book, he's scum.
Instead he likes to rant about the hospital violating his 1st Amendment rights. For the last time everyone, a private business or person cannot violate the 1st Amendment, that is state actions only and Cleveland Clinic is not a governmental entity.
It’s the same in law enforcement, forensics, court, and healthcare. The uneducated masses get their views from politics and tv shows and don’t understand half of what actually goes on in these worldsI just think the general public has no clue about actual medical practice… period.
