Vaccine or not?

I have evolved my thinking here. I want all the anti-vaxxers to skip the shots. Long term it means fewer right wingers. Darwin Award winners, all of them.

Me too. I am no longer going to try to discourage dems that I know from taking the jab. I hope the take every poorly tested injection that they can. I hope they continue to trust the government with their entire heart and souls. The fewer dems around the better off we all are.

Both Norwegian and Carnival Cruise lines have dropped the vast majority of testing and vaccine requirements. I think it's cruises 16 days or more a test is required. Royal Caribbean likely isn't far behind with dropping the testing requirement since normally the big three are generally the same in the standards.

Good to know. I'm ready to break out the speedo and go cruising again. When are you and SSC going????

He’s really good.

It’s just hard to watch in parts of our country. We followed crappy science to get into this mess. And now that there is real science that is refuting that and leading us in a different direction, there’s still a large group of political, non practicing medical professionals that are loyal only to political party and pharma

Looks like it’s still an EUA, they’re just expanding it to include children 5 and up.
Correct, and read carefully:

  • The data supporting FDA’s authorization of a single booster dose of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine, Bivalent for both the 6 years through 11 years age group and 12 through 17 years age group is based on the FDA’s previous analysis of immune response and safety data from a clinical study in adults 18 years of age and older who received a booster dose of Moderna’s investigational bivalent COVID-19 vaccine that contained a component of the original strain of SARS-CoV-2 and a component of Omicron lineage BA.1.

So: there have been no studies of immune response nor safety in children, and the ones in adults were conducted using a different investigational vaccine that included a different Omicron variant.

It says this:

Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration amended the emergency use authorizations (EUAs) of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine, Bivalent and the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, Bivalent to authorize their use as a single booster dose in younger age groups.

It's unclear what is emergency authorized and what is fully authorized

It says "FDA Authorization" but is doesn't include the word "emergency". If it is indeed only emergency authorized then their wording is misleading...possibly intentionally so

Yeah, it gets authorization and approval for different population/age groups and now there are different chemical vaccines, the original vaccine and the bivalent. And each manufacturer.

This is EUA for Moderna and Pfizer bivalents being expanded to younger population.

Pretty sure full FDA Approval is still only for the original vaccine and only for adults 18 and up but I haven’t looked in a while.

It has been intentionally so for a long time. "Authorized" = EUA
