VQ is the best you are going to get and plenty good for me.
you think ut might give him a presser to explain why he is quitting in the middle of the season??
I think it's really easy for a keyboard jockey to rail on a 20 year old kid whose football career has gone radically differently than he expected it to. We changed coaching staffs and jerked him back and forth between offense and defense half a dozen times.
Coug's link says the coaching staff is being helpful. Maybe once he decided to transfer, the staff agreed that he might as well spend more time on school so he can graduate? We have no idea what the personal dynamic here is. Blasting him as a "selfish quitter" is simplistic and premature.
, let me share something. I was once accused of robbing a convenience store. I knew nothing about it until a phone call. The kicker? The robbery had happened two hours earlier in Maryland.
He would have my blessing if he finished the year. He has NOTHING to do for the rest of the semester concerning football. The only gain for him by calling it quits now is his own selfish free time. It's a selfish lazy decision to quit before the end of the season. After that I get it.
I can understand why you'd regard VQ as a good source, though. Maybe Coach Gruden will say something definitive at about it at his press conference on Monday.
Uh, plenty of Gruden rumors from VQ ended up over here. Nothing you read on an internet message board is reliable. Maybe your critical thinking skills need some work.
Thank God there's a forum where a grown man can publicly shriek about how weak-minded a 20 year old kid he's never met is, though.
Good Lord. Can we please stop this player bashing nonsense? Vincent Dallas has been a class act from day one. He's been the opposite of selfish -- switching back and forth between positions whenever he's been asked. The fact that he's sticking around to graduate tells me all I need to know about what the coaches think of him as well as what kind of character he has.
What's with these players feeling the need to bail mid-season? So it's not worth practicing and being a team player for six more weeks if you're not where you want on the depth chart? Wouldn't it serve them better to practice hard, give it their all and see what happens? Look at UGA. Their #3 and #4 RBs are now #1 and #2. Who knows what opps could have come along for Dallas and Posey on any given Saturday?
Game, set, match!!!
VQ was the one source that continually said no gruden!!
Ok. VDallas is either a quitter or a stoner. Regardless I am glad his weak minded ass is out of ktown
Big difference between message board rumors and what VQ reports. If they say VDallas called it quits due to playing time it's crystal clear true
No we can't. He isn't a player anymore and deserves no such respect:
Just curious those of you that think its fine for him to quit on his teamates while he has a major role in their success, did you play upper level team sports???
At the time, and apparently it remains so, we don't know the circumstances. Could be coach advised them to leave. Could be some class like maybe a required course such as statistics is just too hard for them even with a tutor. Could be they got medical news that's either too depressing or makes playing a waltz with death if they continue. Could be anything, we don't know and they don't deserved being damned on the whim of some self-righteous, egomaniac who think he's an infallible god.
We're conditioned to be that way from birth.
The media drills it into us.
Innocent til proven guilty? Hogwash and you know what I'm talking about because you've experienced it.
Usually those who have been thru hard times of some kind are a little more tolerant of other's problems.
A God I am not I just asked a question calm down Nancy.
Said this in another post and got flamed so flame on but it's the truth. Fugate left cause they told him the only place they were gonna use him was on special teams. Dallas and posey left for same reason. The players are repeatedly told that they are going to be replaced by "their recruits " especially next year. Now i think this is an incentive type thing but it is clearly backfiring when players walk off the field in middle of practice. Yes i think the best players should be played but just because you have a bad practice doesn't mean your a bad player. There is a fine line between prodding and degrading. Expect more to leave.
