Vincent Dallas leaves team

But God forbid you wait for actual legitimate news before you form an opinion, right?

VQ is the best you are going to get and plenty good for me.

you think ut might give him a presser to explain why he is quitting in the middle of the season??

I think it's really easy for a keyboard jockey to rail on a 20 year old kid whose football career has gone radically differently than he expected it to. We changed coaching staffs and jerked him back and forth between offense and defense half a dozen times.

Coug's link says the coaching staff is being helpful. Maybe once he decided to transfer, the staff agreed that he might as well spend more time on school so he can graduate? We have no idea what the personal dynamic here is. Blasting him as a "selfish quitter" is simplistic and premature.

He would have my blessing if he finished the year. He has NOTHING to do for the rest of the semester concerning football. The only gain for him by calling it quits now is his own selfish free time. It's a selfish lazy decision to quit before the end of the season. After that I get it.

, let me share something. I was once accused of robbing a convenience store. I knew nothing about it until a phone call. The kicker? The robbery had happened two hours earlier in Maryland.

this did bring up a funny thing from my past,i was in court ,uuuuh for bad reasons :) and my ex brother in laws brother had been telling people for years, that that wasn't him in the newspapers

i was sitting there waiting for the gavel to strike me on the head and i heard his name called,i thought at least there is somebody here that i know,i turned around and it wasn't him

he was so glad that i had seen it wasn't him, that when the family's would get together,he would make me tell em,that it wasn't him

it was funny, other than being in court :loco:

Or schoolwork? He's got a lot more time to study if he's not going to practice or traveling for games. Maybe he needs it to graduate and transfer.

Or maybe he failed some drug tests and "leaving because of playing time" is a euphemism. Maybe he's a stoner, not a quitter.

I can understand why you'd regard VQ as a good source, though. Maybe Coach Gruden will say something definitive at about it at his press conference on Monday.

Game, set, match!!!

VQ was the one source that continually said no gruden!!

Ok. VDallas is either a quitter or a stoner. Regardless I am glad his weak minded ass is out of ktown

Uh, plenty of Gruden rumors from VQ ended up over here. Nothing you read on an internet message board is reliable. Maybe your critical thinking skills need some work.

Thank God there's a forum where a grown man can publicly shriek about how weak-minded a 20 year old kid he's never met is, though.

Big difference between message board rumors and what VQ reports. If they say VDallas called it quits due to playing time it's crystal clear true

Good Lord. Can we please stop this player bashing nonsense? Vincent Dallas has been a class act from day one. He's been the opposite of selfish -- switching back and forth between positions whenever he's been asked. The fact that he's sticking around to graduate tells me all I need to know about what the coaches think of him as well as what kind of character he has.

No we can't. He isn't a player anymore and deserves no such respect:

Just curious those of you that think its fine for him to quit on his teamates while he has a major role in their success, did you play upper level team sports???

What's with these players feeling the need to bail mid-season? So it's not worth practicing and being a team player for six more weeks if you're not where you want on the depth chart? Wouldn't it serve them better to practice hard, give it their all and see what happens? Look at UGA. Their #3 and #4 RBs are now #1 and #2. Who knows what opps could have come along for Dallas and Posey on any given Saturday?

That's exactly what I was thinking. But, they are still young men. At 20, I was well equipped to make some rash and irresponsible decisions in a hurry. So who knows.

But, I'm like you. Logically, you've worked your rear end off all off season and now you're in real games and bam, quit! Huh? Even if all the PT you get is returning kicks, then it's better than nothing. And with our D against quality opponents ... that's some pretty decent PT I might add. :eek:hmy:

It's not like he can transfer to the Mocs and be starting at WR next for next weeks game.

If he's quitting b/c of PT, then it's illogical. If it's the hippie lettuce, then that's another story.

At the time, and apparently it remains so, we don't know the circumstances. Could be coach advised them to leave. Could be some class like maybe a required course such as statistics is just too hard for them even with a tutor. Could be they got medical news that's either too depressing or makes playing a waltz with death if they continue. Could be anything, we don't know and they don't deserved being damned on the whim of some self-righteous, egomaniac who think he's an infallible god.

82 claiming he's an infallible God now?...we talked him down when he was Orange Julius Caesar and when he fought the Bama Invaders From Outer Space whilst wrapped in Orange Saran Wrap, we'll get him back...moon pies and RC Cola usually does the trick

We're conditioned to be that way from birth.
The media drills it into us.
Innocent til proven guilty? Hogwash and you know what I'm talking about because you've experienced it.
Usually those who have been thru hard times of some kind are a little more tolerant of other's problems.

I'm aware of the Jerry Springer syndrome being manifested in people who insist on being that way.
We're also homo sapiens sapiens so have the power
reason if and when we so choose. There's no excuse
for being a bigot about something or someone just because you can be. I'd like to see some of the quick to judge snots on here say what they post anonymously to the face of their targets or their team mates.

A God I am not I just asked a question calm down Nancy.

Nancy jr. a lesson for. When the article "A" is used in a noun phrase where the term "god" is applied, that term begins with a small "g". Same thing butchna when using the article "An" for infallible god. But you rpost was funny. Because you're referring an entity that is not the Judaeo-Christian deity thus not meant to a proper noun. Further, Nancy jr. , I answered your question. So if you can ask one, surely I can answer one.

Sorry in advance if already asked, but does this free up two a a schollies for 2015 with both Dallas and Posey leaving?

What a dumb move iin the middle of your Jr season... No actually Channing Fuguate at the start of your sr season

yes. they likely cannot sign a full class in 2015 without additional players leaving so that does raise the number by 2. Its likely more will also leave..

Said this in another post and got flamed so flame on but it's the truth. Fugate left cause they told him the only place they were gonna use him was on special teams. Dallas and posey left for same reason. The players are repeatedly told that they are going to be replaced by "their recruits " especially next year. Now i think this is an incentive type thing but it is clearly backfiring when players walk off the field in middle of practice. Yes i think the best players should be played but just because you have a bad practice doesn't mean your a bad player. There is a fine line between prodding and degrading. Expect more to leave.

Happens all the time after a coaching change. They were probably told certain things by Dooley and Butch probably doesn't share the same mindset. New coach wants to use guys that fits his system. Good luck to both of them and whoever else leaves.

There is always going to be players that leave when a different coaching staff comes in. I don't think two players leaving are because the coaches are degrading them in practice or otherwise. If that was the case we would have had more players leave or transfer. I think this is just a case of two players not getting the playing time they feel they deserve and they feel they could get that playing time else where.

That being said I wish these two players luck and hope they can find whatever it is they are looking for.

I could be the effort and time put in Sunday through Friday isn't worth the playing time they are getting on Saturday.

Best of luck to both of them no matter what road they decide to take. Wish they'd decided to stick the season out though.
