I am a Nova fan and there is 0 shot we are a top 5 team...

Taylor King just got kicked off the team. And the reason we sucked last year in the tournament was Corey Fisher knocked up Scottie Reynolds G/F. (FACT) The team is in flux and could struggle this yr more than usual.

he Vols should be good, just need somebody to step up as a leader

bit of a moot point. Rarely does the guy to take "the shot" matter. Making FTs, ball security and defensive stops are the late game killers. We do those, we win most.

i agree. ideally, we don't want to be in a situation where we need "the shot".

Thank you... I thought this was a no brainier.

Harris is who WE NEED to be taking this shot. Yes we have been disseminated by players who haven't lived up to their billing in the past, but we have to have some sort of faith in this one...right?

If Harris is close to as good as he is supposed to be he will be easily our best offensive player. Which would make it a pretty easy choice.

you ever played with a great college freshman? You know how they handle last second stuff when they're carrying guys' bags off the van? It's not anywhere near the cut and dried situation you're making it out to be.

He might be the guy. He is just as damn likely not to be. Can you imagine UNC rolling with Brendan Wright as the last second go to.

Poor Syracuse had to rely on Carmelo Anthony...

If you watched him before he broke his foot in the all star game even though they do not play defense in those games you could tell he will not have trouble scoring in college if he gets all the way healthy.

that has nothing at all to do with being the last second guy. Nothing at all. Show me, via your LSAT/GRE logic aptitude, how I said that he WILL NOT be. OBTW, Gerry Mac was the late game guy just as much as Carmelo was. They also had a very good senior on that squad that they looked to.

Look, I can tell that playing ball wasn't your forte, just as sports in general aren't. You're a LSAT guy and educational wunderkind. Stick to them.

I guess you played basketball at West Point? So you are the expert of NCAA athletics?

Newsflash, there is no hazing at TN in terms of carrying bags. They also do not do shaving cream to the face. It is not the 1960s. Freshmen are allowed to play, and they are often the best scoring option when time is running out.

Oden, Durant etc the list of stud big men who were the guys you wanted scoring at the end of the game when you had to have the points is a long one.

Can T Harris make free throws? I have heard that he can. That is the relevant question to ask when considering whether or not a big man will get the ball in the dying moments when points are needed. I guess that must not be true though since I did not play basketball against slow white guys at a marginal D 1 program that plays in the Patriot League.

By the way, I actually think it would be stupid to disagree with your statement that "Harris may or may not be great".

That is the kind of prediction that you can give I guess if you have the keen insight of playing d 1 ball.

you have no idea what you're talking about, again. But it's a nice trend, so I'd stick with it. I'd also pull out the education silliness. That works well. College teams haze the crap out of their freshmen.

Oden? Have you lost your mind? The number of freshmen that are asked to be the man at the last minute is tiny. Freaking tiny.

It wasn't about my basketball. It was about 18 and 19 year old freshmen and their preparedness to take a last shot, dimwit.

You didn't get close to playing basketball there because you likely suck and don't have anything about you that would help pass the admission / appointment process. Don't leave it at your basketball ability.

you're an utter clown. Read the comment again you doofus. I, unlike you, am bright enough to tailor the comment to mean exactly what I intended. It said nothing about his ability to play. It was purely about last second shots and freshmen. You'd be best served talking about LSAT scores and rationalizing your sorry ass educational career.

I'm excited that people who know more than I do think that UF is a Top Ten team this season, but until I see evidence that we are going to play something other than a four guard offense masquerading as some configuration that has even one decent forward in it, I'll reserve judgment.

Tired of praying that our three point shooting is on tonight, realizing that if it isn't we ought to be a 15 point dog to anybody decent.

Your playing at a place where plebes are abused makes you about as much of an expert on basketball in the SEC as Pat Conroy. Tobias Harris will not be hazed. He will step on campus as the man and when he is dominating in practice others will be thrilled.

You think that saying "Tobias Harris may or may not be the guy who takes shots at the end of the game" with a good dose of condescension about how you played and know what it is all about to try to rely on a freshman, is just kind of sad/funny.

I have respect for service to the country through the United States military and for West Point as an institution. The only respect I have for the basketball program is that it has had some great coaches and has produced some great coaches. It is not relevant to the experience of Tobias Harris.

Idiotic. I said it isn't cut and dried before you brought about your inane garbage. The assertion was that it's a foregone conclusion. It's freaking not. Hence, the question was about being around freshmen, who tend to be deferential. You know as much coaching and players as you do about prognosticating. If I thought you had the first clue about the dynamic I'm talking about, we'd continue, but you simply haven't the first clue.

Your jealousy over your shoddy academic choices is immaterial to me. Stop bothering with it. If I had to spend my time on a website rationalizing why I defaulted to a joint, I'd consider shutting the hell up.

And yes, Pat Conroy could coach circles around you.

This is absolutely stupid. You have no idea if Tobias Harris will be hazed or not. To act like that thinking Harris will be hazed is somehow beyond the realm of reason shows how much you really know about sports, nothing.

Did you read the idiocy in light of my comments above? Holy crap. I hope the idiot isn't planning to follow me around in the utterly pathetic way that he follows around hat. I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone whose petty jealousy looks so absurd.
