Vitello suspended.

G

Agree with you!!!! Good gravy! How does the conversation get to the point to include talk of Tony leaving???? And Maui never playing for TN???
Back away from the ledge, please 😛

Hey, there was about 24 hours last June when the whole team was being drug-tested because Evan Russell was caught doping. And that’s after the NCAA confiscated all our bats and was going to shut down the program in Nashville. Give people a few hours to process 😂

Watch MA not be eligible and forced to leave only to be accepted with open arms by the NCAA and either Arkansas or LSU!

Evan Russell wasn’t caught doping.

It's pretty clear that if you "comply" and "cooperate" in the hopes that it will bode well for you simply does not work where UT is involved. Drag is the only pace the NCAA uses when dealing with UT. Hell, we laid waste to the entire football program and did well over a year of investigation FOR the NCAA and they STILL have not allowed it to conclude and it's been over 2 years. Look at how LSU and NC dealt with far worse infractions and how that went. I'm convinced it's akin to dealing with bullies. You fail to stand up and you invite more abuse. Stand up and punch 'em in the face one time and it ends. UT comes across as timid and fearful and we're the go to program when the NCAA wants to show some teeth. Pretty clear the NCAA wants no part of a courtroom. What are we using our legal team at UT for? I'd have to believe a single letter would bring our football investigation to a swift close. I'd also have to think that we could send one regarding Vitello and Ahuna sitting out x number of games, NIL rules counseling and that both will be reinstated Monday and that would be that. If the NCAA decides to throw that punch, we need to be prepared to throw a legal one right back. At some point, you have to say enough is enough especially when the NCAA is pretty much dead going forward. That people still cower over what they might do is silly.

The football investigation was handled very well, saved a $12 million buyout, and from the statements already, it appears will end up fine. I don’t believe the LSU investigation for basketball is over, so nothing has been decided yet. LSU got probation in football.

No need for blue font. That scenario would not surprise me at all. You could substitute Coach Vitello for Ahuna and that still would not come as a surprise.

Apparently my sarcasm needs work…
It’s virtually impossible to distinguish sarcasm online unless it’s really over-the-top sarcasm. There are posters that post outrageous things every day, all day, in various forums around our site that actually believe things like this statement are true. Not trying to call you out. You make a lot of sense with your posts and seem to be one of the good guys.

All I know is that the BaseVols has brought this fan a tremendous amount of joy during some turbulent times. I will support them win or lose. This includes supporting every player and Coach through good times and bad. True fans know they need our support even more during the rough patches as that’s when the bandwagon fans jump off and turn hyper critical.

BaseVols against the world. We’re going to have a target on our back for a long time. Just going to make the eventual national title that much sweeter. Everyone is out to get us because they scared.

ESPN should have suspended that guy. He just had to make an on air half ass appology or something.

I have no inside info, but I do have a read on what I believe is happening. I think this 3-game suspension closes the book on the whole Ahuna situation. Meaning, the announcement that UTAD has stated will come Monday, will be that CTV has been reinstated and Ahuna will be immediately eligible to play.

I hope so, but I don't think so. This suspension of Tony is not an NCAA punishment. This is the UTAD punishing Tony. To my untrained eye, this means UTAD has investigated the violation on it's own and is suspending Tony in hopes that the NCAA will take it as a good faith gesture in it's assessment of the issue with Ahuna, or as a gesture to keep the Ahuna eligibility issue from morphing into a full blown ncaa violation investigation. It appears to me that the violation with Ahuna's portal recruitment is already a big concern of the ncaa within the confines of the transfer eligibility permit, and that's the holdup on his certification to play. If this turns into a full blown investigation of his recruitment, he may not play for all or a good part of the season. I sense this is a long way from being resolved. I hope I'm wrong and you're right.

And if the reports I've read are accurate, the gun actually belonged to Miller. That's an even more astonishing.
The reality of the situation is a young woman that was killed would still be alive had Miller not provided the gun that killed her. If that's not grounds for expulsion from college, what would be? Do you think a non-athlete would still be in college if in the same situation?
