Vitello suspended.

It’s possible. It’s also possible the broadcaster noticed pre-game that Russell wasn’t in the lineup and asked someone to find out why and they came back with that BS. We’ll likely never find out.
It came out that the ESPN dude was an Arkansas grad and he saw a tweet that was complete BS and ran with it. He apologized later but it's was about as irresponsible as it gets

White Danny still has 18 level I violations sitting in front of the committee on infractions courtesy of Cornbread and Fulmer, the university has admitted 17 of the 18, but disputed lack of institutional control, if there is documented and verified tampering prior to the player entering the portal, wouldn't want White Danny to help the NCAA prove a significant point in the football case by being greedy in the baseball case, already got over a million tied up in legal fees on the football side, got a bad feeling Monday may be a tipping point and Vittelo and Maui are headed to the MLB level while the stench of Cornbread and Fulmer continue to waft through the athletic department and their relationship with the NCAA.

UT football was NOT charged by the NCAA with lack of institutional control. So, institutional control is not at issue, contrary to your dramatic story.

Contrary to popular belief, the sky is not falling. TV's 3-game suspension could be something similar to the situation at Miami with the Cavinder twins.

Cavinder twins, Miami women’s hoops part of NCAA’s first NIL ruling - Sports Illustrated

If so, then maybe that clears Ahuna to play next week.

If the NCAA continues to try and drag this out, we need to tell them to blow it out their ass like other programs do. I'm fine with cooperation to a point, but when it goes past that point, you stand your ground. FFS, Bill Self of Kansas basketball was involved in an FBI probe and got a slap on the wrist. Alabama is letting a kid who, whether knowingly or unknowingly, abetted a murder play with zero consequence. The list of schools who have done far worse of what we are accused of and gotten away with it is long. If the NCAA tries to get excessive, tell 'em to screw off.

Other schools knowingly cheat and try to hide it. They get little to no punishment. We make mistakes and self-report, and people talk about "being made an example". I'm calling BS.

Tennessee needs to stop kowtowing to the NCAA. We're giving them a sense of self-importance they no longer really have.

It's pretty clear that if you "comply" and "cooperate" in the hopes that it will bode well for you simply does not work where UT is involved. Drag is the only pace the NCAA uses when dealing with UT. Hell, we laid waste to the entire football program and did well over a year of investigation FOR the NCAA and they STILL have not allowed it to conclude and it's been over 2 years. Look at how LSU and NC dealt with far worse infractions and how that went. I'm convinced it's akin to dealing with bullies. You fail to stand up and you invite more abuse. Stand up and punch 'em in the face one time and it ends. UT comes across as timid and fearful and we're the go to program when the NCAA wants to show some teeth. Pretty clear the NCAA wants no part of a courtroom. What are we using our legal team at UT for? I'd have to believe a single letter would bring our football investigation to a swift close. I'd also have to think that we could send one regarding Vitello and Ahuna sitting out x number of games, NIL rules counseling and that both will be reinstated Monday and that would be that. If the NCAA decides to throw that punch, we need to be prepared to throw a legal one right back. At some point, you have to say enough is enough especially when the NCAA is pretty much dead going forward. That people still cower over what they might do is silly.

Interesting take. TV is hugely popular with the baseball crowd. But what is the capacity of the baseball stadium? How many UT fans have no idea who the head baseball coach even is at UT?
All I can tell you is that every female fan would leave their husband for Tony. That’s good enough for me.

Meanwhile in Tuscaloosa...

He is doing what is best for the entire athletic department. We still have an open case with the football team, so we need to demonstrate that we are able to identify potential issues and take the appropriate actions. Our AD's actions may have been different if the football case was already resolved.
Exactly. This prevents the “Lack of Institutional Control” claim.

So, here’s a multiple choice question for y’all. Which one of the following incidents is punished:

A. Player delivers gun upon request that is used to murder a young mother.
B. Player assaults a female fan who is storming the field after a big win.
C. Team pays ~ $10 million to buy a baseball squad.
D. (Worst case scenario): Coach has contact with a player before he is officially in the portal.

Apparently in the world we currently live in, the correct answer is D

Ludicrous!

P.S. if TV is taking the blame and accepting punishment so that Maui can be cleared sooner, then I applaud him!
Who paid 10 million?
