Vitello Will Not Leave Tennessee. . .

He will get almost as much, if not the same, amount of money here as he would at LSU. We're also going to dump big funding into renovations of LNS, so this narrative needs to die. It won't happen overnight, but change is coming this off-season.

It’s a matter of Vitello building his own unique vision, at Tennessee, from the ground up. LSU is a superb job (no doubt), but the program wasn’t built overnight. It took time and commitment by all involved, over several years. The same, arguably, is being done at UT. There is much satisfaction in seeing your vision come to fruition. We’ll give him the resources. I hope He honors his commitment to Tennessee and the players he’s recruited.

I’m trying to decipher were the tears, tears of joy simply for how much fun he had and how special this season was or were they the realization that this special chapter is over for good. I instantly thought the former and told myself he’s locked in then re-watched it and my mind started changing for the first time throughout all the rumor season.
Yep. At first I said he’s locked…. Then I did a complete reversal.

I’ll also add Im pulling for State to win this all now. So many of their fans in Omaha and not a single one of them said anything bad towards us. In fact, had multiple congratulating us on our season (and that was before we lost today). That’s one classy baseball fan base.
They’re a fanbase that deserves a NC as much or more than any fanbase/program in the country. As you said, always a classy bunch and they bleed State baseball. I’ve been in Hoover before where their starting pitcher has been rocked and when he’s taken out there’s 5k strong on their feet giving him a standing ovation and it’s genuine. Once you put that jersey on they appreciate everything you do no matter how meaningful or meaningless it is. The entire program is the epitome of college baseball IMO.

I hope it’s not true, but I guess we’ll see. It would be a real tragedy. Vitello has this fanbase bought in and I’m fairly confident there won’t be a single hire Danny White can make that will retain the fan support that has built up throughout this season. Fan apathy will set in again and we’ll probably see a rash of transfers, too. But, hopefully this is all just a nightmarish scenario that never comes to pass.

Godwin
Johnson
Corbin (highly unlikely)
CV
O’Connor
Lemonnis (sp?) (I’ve also seen his name floated different places)

I’m guessing that White and CV will meet sometime later this week. Now that the season is over, this is White’s #1 priority.

That 2.6 million from LSU is just chatter from their message board.
That's double what Mainieri was making at 1.225...Corbin makes 1.4 I don't see it myself Here's how much each College World Series baseball coach gets paid

LA Vol said that the plan was to pump money into LNS after the new tv money came in, but Fulmer realized they needed to fast track it for sooner. So, Fulmer talked to TV about it and had already lined up donors for the money before this year. You have to remember that Fulmer gave TV his raise after 2019, and Covid put a pause on spending. TV would have gotten another raise if last season was played. LA Vol knows his stuff.

Saying and doing are two completely different things. TV recruited many of the travel programs in the Shelby area while at Arky and has continued to use those connection while at UT. I'm just relaying some of the facilities/timing concerns those travel coaches have indicated. I know the family of one of the current players and the facilities are a touchy subject. Thats why you've seen TV negotiate for them in the media this season...

I’m going to hate Danny White and our administration more than ever if they don’t take immediate action

This won't be an entirely Danny White fail. This will largely fall at the feet of Hamilton, Hart, and Fulmer for neglecting the facilities for so long.

The salary isn't the issue, its the facilities

That’s unfortunately a good point. I hope we can remedy that in a short enough time frame to satisfy him. It’ll be s tragedy if we don’t

It is partially on Danny for sure. This is a problem that goes back 20 years though that hasn't been fixed...

All true… but the ire will belong to Danny, if he doesn’t care that LSU is prepared to do it, it’s on him.

Ultimately, when a coach negotiates in the media, it's never a good sign. TV has been doing that relating to capacity and facilities for several weeks now. Maybe TV just didn't want more of the words but no action that he got from Fulmer. Maybe Danny's vision of facilities is far less grand than TV. We will see soon enough

I’m just telling you what LA said. Fulmer wasn’t really an AD long enough as Covid hit just over 2 years on the job. Not saying Fulmer was a great AD, but this would really fall back on someone before him. But he apparently did take action by lining up donors. That doesn’t happen overnight for $35 million. I think he knew what he had in TV in 2019, and he just became AD in very late 2017.

I will attack this in a few moments, I need to get it together been a real cruddy day. GBO!!!

There's truth to that but things haven't gone at TVs pace that he wants. It's not all on Fulmer but ultimately he was in charge of thr UTAD for over 3 years and the finances went to sh-t (even excluding COVID). If TV leaves, it will largely be due to facilities and the blame falls at Hammy, Hart, Fulmer, and Danny's feet. Danny's hands might be tied now due to the economic ruin Fulmer inflicted due to the Pruitt hire.

None of that matters. It’s really plain and simple.

If TV leaves and goes to LSU it’s because it’s a better job and it’s not close. You can’t blame that on anyone it’s just a fact

Then that should be a non-issue, because facilities can be improved, and quickly enough.

Yes, LSU is a better job. No one is arguing that. But, that doesn't change the fact that our facilities put us at a competitive recruiting disadvantage to most of the SEC and that is used against us in recruiting.

LSU is a better job than Ole Miss and Florida too but they couldn't pull their coaches. The difference is OM, UF don't have to deal with the competitive recruiting disadvantages from 2 decades of administrative neglect...

I'm convinced from what I've seen and read that UT (White, Plowman, etc) is extending an offer equal to any other in compensation for CTV and his staff and for facilities worthy of a championship program. If that isn't enough to keep him, then that's not on UT, or White.
