Vitello Will Not Leave Tennessee. . .

I'm convinced from what I've seen and read that UT (White, Plowman, etc) is extending an offer equal to any other in compensation for CTV and his staff and for facilities worthy of a championship program. If that isn't enough to keep him, then that's not on UT, or White.

Perception vs reality. We’ll know. Will the rest of the fanbase?

The other side of this is TV has heard the same thing about facility upgrades for 4 years from 3 different ADs all with no action to date.

Again, semantics is key. What White thinks is championship level facilities might still be bottom tier in the SEC.

Dude, they’re talking about legitimate plans, schematics. Not words. 🤦🏼‍♂️

I don't believe for a second that White doesn't know what championship level baseball facilities would be. After all, he was involved in making Ole Miss facilities what they are today. And he has eyes and can see for himself what they are like at Hoover and elsewhere. As for trust in the AD's of the past, well, that's in the past. White initiated talks with Tony when he first arrived on contract and on facilities, and has developed some architectural renderings of a vision of an improved LNS. But if you've got to be negative, go for iit.

Again, what are the plans? Are they going to put you on par with the rest of the SEC powers or are they going to still be well behind the big boys?

That’s between the architects, White and CTV. Danny White said when asked “I’m going to do what our head coach tells me to do” in regards to stadium and facility upgrades. Now the rumors are the framework of the package is in place, which I’m sure it has been for some time, and the details of the upgrades are being defined. Since both Plowman and White have said these negotiations have gone on for months, I would think they already have some idea of what is in store for LNS.

Tennessee fans have been so used to very bad management for years now that it is ingrained in the mind. I believe a lot of fans are underestimating DW and Plowman.
This will get done.

If ADDW doesn’t screw it up! Clearly CTV has orange, the fans and city in his heart already! DW needs to quickly get his head in the right place to improve EVERYTHING with CTV and the program. Boyd, Plowman and Big $ are already doing their part!

I don't believe LSU is as interested in Vitello as his agent and the anxiety of our fanbase wants us to believe.

No report from D1 baseball has had him near the top of the list. I believe one of their top targets will take the job.

However, if they turn it down, I believe Tony would be willing to listen and leave.

If Vitello is truly the number one target, well the road is clear it's the off-season with no distractions and I cannot imagine this goes past today or tomorrow either way. The longer this drags out, the more likely it is that Vitello isn't who they're prioritizing and he is just a backup plan.
Right. If Tony is their target, they probably hashed it out last night in a hotel conference room in Omaha.

Yes, LSU is a better job. No one is arguing that. But, that doesn't change the fact that our facilities put us at a competitive recruiting disadvantage to most of the SEC and that is used against us in recruiting.

LSU is a better job than Ole Miss and Florida too but they couldn't pull their coaches. The difference is OM, UF don't have to deal with the competitive recruiting disadvantages from 2 decades of administrative neglect...

I don’t think lsu offered either sully or Bianco. Sully had the recent baggage that scared them away imo

facilities are a very small piece of the puzzle as to why the lsu job is better then tenn. Doesn’t really even factor in imo

Ben McKee said this morning that after talking with college baseball folks in Omaha, he feels that LSU may be going in a different direction, and that CV is not currently their top target. Of course, he said that things can always change, but he feels better about things than he did yesterday.

Agreed but I’d say they would wait at least until the team gets back to Knoxville
