Recruits want to go to a place for many reasons: playing in a specific conference, or; chance to get a good education, or; chance to get TV exposure for NFL, or; you name it. I would hate to think there is a recruit sitting at a table mulling over offers from UF, UT, Bama, USC, PSU, tOSU and Vandy thinking "everything looks about even to me, but who looks the prettiest on game day?" or "you know, that color orange doesn't look good against my complexion, but black is awfully slimming".

Have you noticed where Oregon has been ranked, lately...and the past few years, since Nike starting providing them these fancy uni's? They were the Ole Miss of the PAC 10. All that bling started elevating their recruiting, and their recruiting started elevating their number of wins. There IS a correlation.

Not that it's necessary, but it does boost recruiting...along with all the other aspects, like facilities and such.

IIRC they did away with it after a couple of the UK players were killed in a DUI accident the week of the UT/UK game.

The barrel was dropped after some Kentucky kids were killed in a DUI accident.

Three things.

If we ever do black unis again I hope we go black on black with orange highlights like this helmet.

Secondly, these pictures came from Ebay.

Third, images.google.com has a reverse image search that's real handy for debunking crap like this. Just open it up in a new tab and drag the image you're wanting to find to that tab.

Lulz. Instead of black shoes with traditional orange jerseys, we could like surprise everybody and wear black helmets and pants with orange jerseys! Or or black on black on black! Or orange helmets with white jerseys and periwinkle pants! Boom goes the dynamite!!!
