man we got a bunch of people sensitive about their compensation machines. And why exactly do you think anyone NEEDS to justify their choice of vehicle to you?

its always you truck guys trying to explain why you need it that come to me. "I can haul a 20 ton trailer with this baby up Mont Eagle", all I simply ask is "When was the last time you did that or you plan to do it in the future?" and I get crickets and people being defensive about me telling them what they can and cant have. like I said, you can want it all you want, don't justify your WANT as a NEED.
I work in the heart of Buckhead in Atlanta. probably 1/3 of the vehicles on the road here are lifted trucks with giant wheels who have never even been parked in the grass. Forgive me if I don't buy the BS that everyone who drives a truck really NEEDS to drive a truck.
I drove my Frontier to that ATL quagmire and got it totaled. Bought a Titan XD to replace it. Simply because I need a truck and the Titan was 0% financing when I bought it. Do I need one that big, no. I do need a full size though as I pull a 16 ft. trailer hauling a tractor and lawnmowers, haul yards of dirt at a time and other things. A lifted truck is fairly useless IMO. When lifted the suspension is generally compromised to fulfill the duties of a truck.I don’t drive a truck. I just don’t see why you believe anyone has to justify why they need or want something to you. I’m sure there’s plenty of things that you own and use that you don’t NEED either.
oh absolutely. thing is I don't justify any of the things I want as needs.I don’t drive a truck. I just don’t see why you believe anyone has to justify why they need or want something to you. I’m sure there’s plenty of things that you own and use that you don’t NEED either.

these trucks are apparently needed by an incredibly large subgroup of our office working economy and they will be glad to tell you about how much they need it so they COULD haul something.

I agree. Can't really call 2 inches a lift, more of an adjustment. It will still pull a trailer and function as a truck. I was considering 2 inches on my Frontier in the front and an inch in the back to level it and go slightly larger on tires but nothing that would prevent it from functioning as a pickup. Then ATL happened and I just went Nissan XD size. Love it. I understand people wanting what Louder is talking about but I've never been a fan.Yet many spend thousands on making their trucks look like something out of a retarded cartoon. Some complete with "truck nuts", or exhaust pipes coming out of their truck beds. Some even put stupid erector set looking suspension thingies under their trucks. I have also noticed that these same people generally go 25+ over the speed limit on the interstate. Anyone else notice this? Different strokes for different folks I guess. My F150 has 2 inches of lift on it, and it is the perfect height for me to get in and out of with my long legs. That and decent tires is all I have done to it. Yet, even with only 2 inches of lift, the ball joints last half as long. Then, the tires cost more, uses a little more gas, ect. So yeah, altering a factory design has its consequences. The dumbest thing I have see so far is the Carolina lift. The lifted front and regular back. So terrible looking, and seemingly unsafe as well since view is compromised.

I really don't care what people do with their trucks. To each his own, I guess. I do cringe when I see a nice truck that has been ruined with stupid modifications. One thing that I shake my head at is when the truck has been lifted and they've put on normal or larger sized rims and those silly looking tires that are about 1" thick.Yet many spend thousands on making their trucks look like something out of a retarded cartoon. Also, those DA dodge truck drivers that run down the road with their tow mirrors extended. Take it from someone who's tagged mirrors with a utility truck, it's not fun. Cost me $3500 to repair my truck and the police won't assign blame so even though I almost went into a ditch to avoid him, it was still written up as a no fault accident. Even the guy accepted responsibility until his boss and the cops showed up.
