Volinbham Talks Marketing and Bud Light

That’s great in theory if it wasn’t publicized with a social media post for March Madness. Followed by the new head of marketing stating the brands focus is to no longer cater to “frat guys”. Not 100% but a high percentage of white fraternity members are conservatives as that was the shot fired at “frat guys”.
Don’t forget the “out of touch humor” part of the equation

<sigh>

Liberal poons were going to be triggered by anything Trump did or by anyone doing anything that portrayed him in any light but negative.

Now, if you're even trying to relate people, for the most part, silently boycotting Budweiser with the intent of "had enough" to liberals screaming at Trump every second of the day, or seeking counseling because he was President, or throwing fits of rage all over social media, or trying to get people silenced and banned for supporting someone, or trying to get them fired for their political affiliation, it won't work.

As many people (perhaps even you) like to throw around the "if you don't like it, go somewhere else" comments with a giggle in regards to any number of left leaning actions over the last five years, well, you got it. People just stopped buying the product. Didn't rant or rave, didn't try to get people banned or blacklisted, just stopped buying the product. No rallies, no protests outside of distribution centers, no a-holes in the drive thru ordering a cup of water and being total c*nts to workers just earning a wage...

Just stopped buying the product and went elsewhere.

Yay Capitalism!

Come on, dude. 300 word deflection when all you had to say was "I guess it wasn't sarcasm and sorry for being a smartass."

LMAO at "silently" boycotting. We're on page 20 of this thread, and this is not the only thread discussing it. What has been silent about it? The internet/social media has been filled with gripes and criticism. Kid Rock was shooting beer cans in a public display, FFS. Dudes here are seriously arguing that Bud Light insulted them by targeting a younger demographic.

“A younger demographic”

Yea, that’s it. Light beer producers have historically struggled to sell product thru to college campuses, and in bars frequented by 25 year olds.

He should have kept his mouth shut, and the dollars rolling in.

Another fine example of Business weighing in where it aught not.

He’ll now make more money as a political martyr than he would ever make going forward selling $50 pillows and $90 slippers. It’s amazing that he was able to milk the MyPillow bedding, towels, and footwear for as long as he did.

I think that becoming a televangelist would be a strategically appropriate career redirect. Or at least sell those neck crosses online.

“Going forward” he’d have a hard time keeping that level of revenue flowing. Pillows and sheets can last for years, so there might not be much potential for repeat customers. Basically he’s scaling back the manufacturing to an economically appropriate level and will continue to hawk stuff through his online store.

Losing Walmart as a customer means the manufacturing couldn’t be sustained.

I’d like to see how much if his $100 million in sales was being spent on TV advertising.

Can you go find me the protests and displays of public outrage that have been going on the past three months since this kicked off?

Because I haven't seen anyone doing a public campaign to keep people from drinking BL...

There were a few loudmouth in the first week. But by and large, people just stopped buying it. They aren't screeching about it, just taking their money elsewhere. And you think they're upset? Boy howdy, you'd be in for a shock if you really saw them get mad.

Lmao yeah, they were just targeting “a younger demographic”. Cause We all know young people/college kids aren’t into cheap a** beer like bud light. You are so full of sh**, go cry more about Jim caviezel.

I think pillows and sheets are big sellers.

New batches of children get “big beds”
New batches of kids go off to college
New batches of young people buy houses
And old folks head to homes

That happens every year.

He murdered his own cash cow.

I feel sorry for the folks that lost their jobs due to the owner being crazy.

But his crazy act and the Made in ‘Murica business model is what got them those jobs in the first place.

BTW, they all still have jobs. Just not as many are sewing machine operators. BL is the business that’s eliminating jobs.

Sending a custom-made can of beer to a trans person is not political, as so many of you seem to think. The mere acknowledgment of trans people is not political. Only deranged people think that. Jordan acknowledged Republicans with that quote. That only alienated the most sensitive of Democrats.

Remember when Fallon tossled Trump's hair and poons on the left were mad? This is the same thing.
OK. I'll concede the idea that it isn't political. Can we now come to the idea that it was bad business... given that we know what BL's main customer demographic was?

Don't care about Bud Light but news has come out of the Bay Area that Anchor Brewing is closing after 127 years. Their Anchor Steam beer was a workingman's staple for decades because it used a cheaper process called steam brewing.

It was the godfather of craft beer brewing especially after one of the Maytag heirs bought it and ran it for 45 years. Hate to see this loss of regional culture. Had quite a few of those when I was stationed in Bay Area. Drank a lot more Henry Weinhart's Private Reserve out of Portland.

Anchor Steam was probably the first "fancy beer" I ever had. That's sad
