Vols hire Chaney per Multiple Sources

Shut your mouth.
The more I read your posts. The more I know you just regurgitate without thought or research. Bama won 4 of their 5 NCs scoring 31, 33, 35, and 36 points per game. Everyone knows DEFENSES WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS! Clemson and Venables just showed it last night!!! Bama had NO ANSWER for the Clemson D and couldn't capitalize when they did get in the read zone three times. If Pruitt turns the UT D into what many think he is capable of as long as he has the players, Chaney can scheme an O to score mid 30's a game to win a ton of games and a NC!!!

Lol using Bama as an example smdh

Ok, now let's use some logic - is UT Alabama? No we aren't. Are we ever going to field one of those historic 9 ppg or 11 ppg Bama defenses? Extremely unlikely.

The game is also changing. Bama and Clemson averaged 48 and 44 ppg this year.

I don't why you'd want a "mid 30s" Chaney offense when you could shoot higher.

We have to field an extremely high scoring offense to ever have a chance. Fact: in his NINETEEN years, Chaney has never, not once, not a single time fielded a top-10 offense.

Jesus dude we get it, you dont think Chaney is very good. You go on and on about ranked offenses. Please tell us, how successful has Georgia been while Chaney was there? Is he going to come in here and just magically turn us around? No. Is he a solid OC with SEC experience? Yes. Is he elite? Debatable. Georgia is an elite program that had had a very good offense under Chaney. If you cant see that then I dont know what to tell you.

I have been saying the same to him for a long time. Great post! But, you are wasting your breathe. He only sees a glass HALF TO MOST OF THE WAY EMPTY!!!

Past his prime, like his offense.

First 9 years as an OC - 36th average offense
Last 10 years - 58th average offense
Arkansas improved offensively each year he was there. Georgia also improved offensively each year and was the 18th rated offense in the country this year statistically. Kind of a ridiculous argument on your part statistically

You are the type of person that complains when the sun is out because there is one cloud in the sky or due to someone giving you a ton of gold bricks because the edges aren't as smooth as you would like!!! Please take your comments to another site for just one night. It is a great evening for this fan base! You don't agree! So, go troll and hug up to all the Mullen and Kirby fans you agree with so much!!!

Not quite, quite a Vol optimist, I just don't love this hire. I was estatic at the possibilities of Briles, Yurcich, and Freeze if you look back. No need to be butthurt jist because I don't love this hire.

Fwiw I think it's a fine hire. We could do worse.

YOU ARE A COMPLETE MORON!!! You said 36 points wouldn't do the job, PERIOD! I proved you wrong just on Bama's 4 of 5 titles, not even looking at the PPG of the other NC TEAMS over the last 15-20 years!!! As many have stated, take your lame azz to the UF or UGA site! You seem to love them so much!!!

You are the only butthurt one in this forum right now. For the last time, take your butthurt self to the UGA or UF site!!!

Boom!!!! I am excited by this hire. He has ties to UT, is very experienced at play calling in SEC. Hurts UGA, might help in recruiting, might get lucky and bring Pittman. Give Friend a new title and a payraise and call it a day.

So? Do you really think we can pull a better coach to come into a losing program with this OL and this QB situation? To play against some of the best defenses in the country? Be happy we have him rather than Clawson, Scott, or Helton reincarnated.

lol so enlighten us how long he was at Ark...the answer is 2 years. His 1st year they went BACKWARDS to a whopping 20 ppg. How could he NOT improve on that? He also took UGA backwards to 24 ppg. Once again, how could he not improve on that?

But I digress, this isn't even what I was debating, in case you can follow the logic of an argument. I am saying his offenses ranked decently back in the late 90s and mid 2000s. Not so much these days unless he is granted crazy levels of talent. Even then, he can't crack the top 13 offenses. Why can't he match his talent level with points? UGA is 3rd in talent. It's a serious concern.

LOL, that sounds like Devo saying Saban is past his time!

lol he may very well be in his prime. His biggest issue is rolling through coordinators. I do think this is an advantage to Chaney, I don't think he has HC aspirations and could give stability.

Okay let me rephrase, the people who say they have inside Info do not. That’s how the internet works. Everyone hides behind a username and acts like they know stuff. The only people I know for sure on here who has info are deerpark and lwsvol (even though he said he doesn’t have that much info anymore.
In the RF, there's a couple that tell us things that you can't fake. It's released in the news hours later or even the next day.
There's a few here in that FF that read and just wait for something to change and run straight over here to tell everyone they were "wrong again" but they never mention all the times they're right.

We knew about the coaches flying to Charlotte well before it was released by the media (as 1 example). Which is fine, I like finding out early, especially in recruiting. Some just really enjoy b**ching about those guys, more than reading info. And that's fine also, to each their own I guess. Just cracks me up that it bothers so many. If you don't like it, scroll past. Easy enough.

I haven’t seen this addition. I wonder if Tee is coming to coach QBs!

Was Chaney the only one retained from Kiffin staff when Dooley came in? Then again, Kiffin basically took everyone with him to USC. Did he not want Chaney at USC or was Chaney not interested? Anyone know the story there?

Based on him maintaing land in TN and planning to retire in TN. I would say Chaney decided to stay. Fulmer may have even influenced him a little. Even though, Fulmer wasn't AD. Fulmer knows what a great OC looks like. He got Cutcliffe to come back. Had Cut not left for Duke. Fulmer may still be winning as a coach at UT presently!

Because he's calling plays in the SEC; not the Big 12.
