Vols hire Chaney per Multiple Sources

It's nice thought that PF would have remained winning as HC but sadly that was not the case. The program had fallen into disrepair in recruiting. Just see what Kiffin had to cobble together to put an offense on the field, two walkons on the OL for instance.

I agree 100%. It was very sad that Phil didn't recruit stud OLs his last few years. The OL became UT's weakest length. Phil being a former OL and OL coach SHOULD HAVE NEVER LET THAT HAPPEN!!! I am saying Cutcliffe was a great OC. In fact, Cutcliffe was such a great OC and QB coach that UT won a lot of games without Fulmer providing a great OL for Cut for many years!!!

Not my first choice, but solid and just about everyone seems happy. If CJP wants him, I’m satisfied. Now.....where are all those chuckleheads that said CJP didn’t know what he was doing?

They're all around us. All those goons talking about Will Friend can gtfoh

It has said UT dumped on Martin quite a bit too after winning a NC when Peyton the "Golden Child" didn't. Don't get me wrong at all. I love Peyton. But, he never won a NC and didn't help get Trevor Lawrence here. He doesn't seem to be helping to get any QB's here. How is that not possible? I know there is a fine line with recruiting violations on this. But, you would think former players could come work with players once they get on campus. Are they allowed?

Stop making it sound like Tee was some great QB that led the 1998 team. His numbers were average to below average. We all know what led to the UT NC. It was the defense.

If Chaney can match the production of the offenses he had here in 2011-12 & If Pruitt can get the defense the way he wants it to be..... look out.
2011 we scored 20 ppg... let's remember it took until his 4th year here to hit big numbers. Better get patient.

Umm Peyton does. Manning does a lot for UT. What has Tee done

I am not saying he was ELITE like Peyton. We all know Big Al was the true leader that had much more to do with the NC win than Tee. The D won the NC, not the O. Tee also had a great OL and great RB's in JL and TH. Tee did scramble during the first game on 3rd down and made a Dobbs like play vs Syracuse to set up the win. Had UT lost to Syracuse. The NC doesn't happen. Tee did do some other good scrambling and had a great passing game vs SC too. Tee is probably wrong in his feelings. I didn't say Tee was right. I said why it has been said he feels the way he does toward UT.

No, we kept Pittman, who was really the only one that we wanted in the hire to begin with. Coley was our OC. Chaney just ate all of the food in the pressbox.

I swear to heaven UGA idiots never fail to amuse me. Ok, sport. You never wanted him. Oldest UGA passive aggressive BS in the world.

Yes. UGA fans are annoying idiots. Thank you for supporting that argument. Now, go sniff butts on some dawg board.

That's actually false. Tee had a 144 qbr. Peyton's senior season was a 147. So, Peyton was average too?

And the offense was 19th nationally and the defense 8th. The defense was better, but it wasn't some unbalanced team.

lol so enlighten us how long he was at Ark...the answer is 2 years. His 1st year they went BACKWARDS to a whopping 20 ppg. How could he NOT improve on that? He also took UGA backwards to 24 ppg. Once again, how could he not improve on that?

But I digress, this isn't even what I was debating, in case you can follow the logic of an argument. I am saying his offenses ranked decently back in the late 90s and mid 2000s. Not so much these days unless he is granted crazy levels of talent. Even then, he can't crack the top 13 offenses. Why can't he match his talent level with points? UGA is 3rd in talent. It's a serious concern.
You lost me at "But I digress" .

Or, go try to sniff Bevo's butt and get trampled. Wait, that already happened to UGA, well, almost, LOL.

Yes, but just a minority of the fanbase. Now that he’s bailing though they are trying to flip the narrative. Such is life I guess.

I mean come on though, you can’t say you wanted to get rid of him last year when you went to the NC! That’s as stupid as Bama fans wanting to fire Saban after last night!

Georgia didn’t want him anymore?

Then why the heck did they offer him a raise to stay?

Fans vs coaches. The raise would suggest they wanted. The fact that theu didn't match suggests they had limits to how much they cared.

Fans are split imo. A lot of "wow..." and "what is happening?" posts, but certainly not a meltdown and some are quite happy and want someone that is creative.

Georgia went to the NC last year correct? And the sugar bowl this year...

And they think that that means their OC sucks and should fire him???

Are they all inbred? Get knocked on the head? Or just that stupid?

Whoa, whoa. Get real Train! Tee was a great QB, all the way. Of course we had a great D, but Tee was a leader and a clutch player. He dropped dimes when needed and took off running when needed. Don't forget.

Now that this is cleared up. Anyone posting TOTAL OFFENSE stats doent understand a thing. Total O is crap. All it represents is Total Yards. The difference between Georgia at 18 and OK ST at 10 is 35 yards/game. Do you think the slack ass Big 12 D's could make up for that? Do you think Georgia killing clock in the 4th could have an effect at that? If you want the truth, dig deeper. Georgia #1 SEC rushing O. Top 20 in the country in most every other category. Either way, like Swain says. The coach's job is to put the players in the best position, but it ain't about x's and the o's, but the Jimmy's and the Joe's.
