Vols hire Chaney per Multiple Sources

In the RF, there's a couple that tell us things that you can't fake. It's released in the news hours later or even the next day.
There's a few here in that FF that read and just wait for something to change and run straight over here to tell everyone they were "wrong again" but they never mention all the times they're right.

We knew about the coaches flying to Charlotte well before it was released by the media (as 1 example). Which is fine, I like finding out early, especially in recruiting. Some just really enjoy b**ching about those guys, more than reading info. And that's fine also, to each their own I guess. Just cracks me up that it bothers so many. If you don't like it, scroll past. Easy enough.

Thanks for your opinion

Martin for water boy. Needs to prove he wants to be here. Cause hes done a good job of dumping on us

It has said UT dumped on Martin quite a bit too after winning a NC when Peyton the "Golden Child" didn't. Don't get me wrong at all. I love Peyton. But, he never won a NC and didn't help get Trevor Lawrence here. He doesn't seem to be helping to get any QB's here. How is that not possible? I know there is a fine line with recruiting violations on this. But, you would think former players could come work with players once they get on campus. Are they allowed?

That is some serious coin. I think the administration is ready for a winning football program.

Didn't we give Helton 1.2m? That was top 12 money. Shoop 2 million. Schiano was just making 1.5m. Money doesnt equal success.

This would be top-8 money. Does anyone really believe he's one of the top 8 coordinators in the country?? Most would say that's laughable. There's a reason UGA kept him on the cheap.

Did we watch a different UA v CU playoff game last year? That was a Bama defensive slaughter iirc. Almost beat the Tide?

I agree Pruitt got their number the second half and props to him, but did you not understand Bama was BEHIND in that game until Tua hit the game winning TD as time ran out?

I would love that but tee has said only way he come back to ut is for hc

Then, he will never come back. He is a great recruiter. But, he hasn't proven to be NO MORE than an average OC at best, probably not even average.

When it was just rumors, they had threads wondering what they could do to keep, definitely didn't want him gone.
After, of course, they "didn't want him anyway".
I mean sure, several here choose to believe the more negative. Surprises no one.
I work with a bunch of Dawg fans and I can assure you they are elated. I still think it's a good hire though, most Dawg fans are idiots.

I’m good with this hire... now we just have to get some great players. We are on the right track.

Based on him maintaing land in TN and planning to retire in TN. I would say Chaney decided to stay. Fulmer may have even influenced him a little. Even though, Fulmer wasn't AD. Fulmer knows what a great OC looks like. He got Cutcliffe to come back. Had Cut not left for Duke. Fulmer may still be winning as a coach at UT presently!

It's nice thought that PF would have remained winning as HC but sadly that was not the case. The program had fallen into disrepair in recruiting. Just see what Kiffin had to cobble together to put an offense on the field, two walkons on the OL for instance.

Lol using Bama as an example smdh

Ok, now let's use some logic - is UT Alabama? No we aren't. Are we ever going to field one of those historic 9 ppg or 11 ppg Bama defenses? Extremely unlikely.

The game is also changing. Bama and Clemson averaged 48 and 44 ppg this year.

I don't why you'd want a "mid 30s" Chaney offense when you could shoot higher.

We have to field an extremely high scoring offense to ever have a chance. Fact: in his NINETEEN years, Chaney has never, not once, not a single time fielded a top-10 offense.
I just read Georgia was 18th this year in total offense, second in SEC in rushing. Not bad. Tennessee was 114th or something awful. This program needs to improve and that is what he will help us to do as he has EVERY PROGRAM he has worked for since leaving the league. He has OL, TE ANd QB coaching experience which is a bonus. Pruitt can recruit and now focus on D. This will all move us in the right direction and Chaney will have his final shot probably at winning the whole thing, make good dough doing it and if we don’t, he will have gotten us closer much than we were and that works for me.

That’s because they’d rather blame the OC when the truth is the players (and fans) were too busy running their mouth off to practice and just assumed all they had to do to win was walk on the field
